Ivybank Cottage is praised for its excellent location with stunning views and local amenities. Guests appreciate the clean environment and efficient heating, as well as the well-equipped kitchen with new white goods. The cottage offers a cosy and peaceful retreat, ideal for couples and their dogs. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall experience is highly recommended.
The cottage is consistently described as very clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The location is highly praised for its amazing views and convenience, with good local amenities, making it a fantastic base to explore Arran.
The cottage is considered cosy and well-suited for two people and a dog, though one review mentioned a chilly reception and a tiny bathroom, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and new appliances. However, points are deducted for the broken tap and the discrepancy between advertised and actual garden furniture.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Ivybank is the same cottage I stayed in 45 years ago & nothing much had changed as I remember! We arrived after a long journey very cold & wet & we had to go to the back door as the front door was hard to open we were told.We walked in to a very chilly room, cosiness would have helped in this situation. There wasn't even a bottle of milk in the fridge although we had brought our own fortunately. The bathroom was tiny which didn't really matter but the tap was broken so hand washing was a bit of a challenge. The photo advertising the cottage showed a back courtyard with a nice table & chairs. It was quite messy & not the furniture as shown on the blurb.Having said all this, the cottage was very clean, the heating, under our control, very efficient & the kitchen well equipped. The white goods were all new too.It did lack a little homely touch but the position of the cottage really compensated for the above.I feel we paid rather a lot for the view & convenience.
