The cottage is mentioned as clean, indicating good hygiene standards, but there are no specific details to suggest exceptional cleanliness.
The location is praised for its natural beauty and wildlife, though one review notes it lacks sea views. Proximity to walking paths and local attractions is a plus.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable for the most part, but some guests mention it's small and not ideal for extended indoor stays.

The cottage is located behind one of The Twelve Apostles, a famous row of pretty and characterful cottages just a few yards from the beach in this tiny village located just a few miles along the coastal road from Lochranza at the foot of Glen Catacol. Several walks can start from the village including alongside the burn towards Loch Tanna; or past Loch na Davie through Gleann Easan Biorach to Lochranza Distillery, returning on the coast road, over the hill on the Postman’s Walk or by bus. Wildlife that can be seen nearby includes red deer, red squirrels, seals, otters, golden eagles, dolphins, and gannets.
This village has become known as home to three of the world’s rarest and most endangered tree species. A National Nature Reserve in Glen Diomhan, one of Glen Catacol’s side glens is home to some 300 Arran Whitebeams (Sorbus arranensis), and over 200 Cut-Leaved Whitebeams (Sorbus pseudofennica) and the world’s only wild Catacol Whitebeam (Sorbus pseudomeinichii). This is a large part of the total world population of species which, apart from a few kept elsewhere for conservation purposes, are only found on Arran.
The Island of Arran is a beautiful island, known as Scotland in miniature, with spectacular mountains, beautiful white sandy beaches, and varied woodland. Steeped in history, Arran boasts its very own Stone Circles, and is home to two castles, the famous Brodick Castle and Lochranza Castle ruins. For the active, this beautiful island is a walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise. There are excellent beaches, horse riding, water sports, bird watching and six golf courses.
There is also a wide variety of world-famous island made products ranging from chocolate and cheese to soaps, mustard, and preserves, and of course Lochranza Whisky at the distillery. Pebble beach within 100 yards.

A very comfortable and cosy cottage. Good walking routes nearby and fabulous wildlife across the sound and in the local gardens. An abundance of red squirrels, one of which ran past both the back and front doors. Brilliant.

I can't give this 5* for location because it is in the back row, behind the cottages that have the sea views. But it's a wonderful spot on the coast looking towards the Mull of Kintyre and has a great feel because of the lovely environment. We and our dogs had a very comfortable, warm stay for a week with everything that we needed in the kitchen and the cottage. We walked sections of coast path, climbed the highest peak and made a couple of trips to the superb Blackwatersfoot sourdough bakery. We'd certainly stay here again.

Thr accommodation was compact but a good base for exploring Arran and sufficient for our needs for 2 adults and 2 small dogs.Clean and with everything we needed, and a few steps away from a rocky beach and beautiful views of the water and the hills. We saw deer on the beach just a short distance away and numerous seabirds.Early morning we saw a deer at the back gate and several times a day we had a beautiful red squirrel pass through the back patio.
