About this property

Findochty Beach House is an inviting beachfront cottage resting in the coastal village of Findochty, Moray, boasting far-reaching sea views across the Moray Firth and a private garden for enjoying time outdoors. Sleeping up to four guests across two thoughtfully arranged bedrooms, this property is well-suited to families, couples or a small group of friends seeking a seaside escape. Upon entering, you are welcomed into a bright open-plan living space, where the kitchen, dining and sitting areas come together to create a sociable hub of the home. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything needed for a self-catered stay, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer for added ease, while the dining area offers a pleasant setting for enjoying home-cooked meals.

After a day by the coast, settle into the sitting area and unwind with a film on the TV, accompanied by views stretching out towards the sea. The bedrooms provide a restful base, comprising a king-size room with en-suite facilities and a second bedroom arranged with twin beds. Each space has been thoughtfully prepared with provided linens and towels, while the bathrooms are fitted with practical touches such as wall-mounted toiletries for guest use. Younger guests are well catered for with a highchair and travel cot available. Stepping outside, the appeal of Findochty Beach House continues, with a private garden and patio where you can sit with a drink in hand while taking in the coastal surroundings.

With the beach right on your doorstep, days can be spent wandering along the shoreline or simply watching the changing tides. A shop and pub are both just a short stroll away, making it easy to pick up essentials or enjoy a meal out without travelling far. The surrounding area offers a variety of places to explore, including the nearby villages of Portknockie, Cullen, and Portsoy, each offering their own charm. In Portknockie, enjoy coastal walks and views over the Moray Firth; in Cullen, spend time on its sandy beach or wander through the characterful Seatown area; and in Portsoy, visit the historic harbour and soak up its seaside heritage.

Attractions in the area include the striking Bow Fiddle Rock near Portknockie, the impressive Duff House with its art collections and grounds, and the renowned Speyside Whisky Trail, home to well-known distilleries such as Glenfiddich and The Macallan. Closer to home, guests can also visit Strathlene Golf Club, offering coastal views from its course, or explore the ruins of Findochty Castle, adding a touch of history to your stay. With its excellent position and thoughtful features, Findochty Beach House makes a lovely base for discovering the Moray coast.

The delightful fishing village of Findochty, which dates back to the 1400s, sits on the edge of the natural harbour known as Crooked Haven. Nowadays, Findochty is used more by leisure sailors than fishermen, whilst the fishing boats have moved down the coast to Buckie. Findochty has a small sheltered beach at Long Head and a popular pub on the harbour front. Why not visit the delightful town of Cullen, situated beneath spectacular railway viaducts and renowned for its hearty smoked haddock and potato soup, or enjoy a spot of golf at either of the Cullen or Strathlene golf courses? Take a pleasant drive to the lively town of Elgin, home to an imposing cathedral, museums and the mesmerising Biblical Gardens. With the whole of the Moray Coast to explore, with its Whisky Trail, an abundance of historic houses and gardens, sparkling golden sands and hospitable inns, this is a superb base from which to enjoy the delightful north east coast of Scotland.
