Return from a fun-filled day exploring the highlands to this light and homely abode, where you can relax and unwind on the plush leather sofa as you watch flames flicker within the traditional woodburning stove. From here, a pretty cream kitchen hosting a sea of handy electrical appliances awaits you, a wonderful space to whip up a delectable meal for all to enjoy whilst seated at the attractive oak dining table. Completing the ground floor is a chic family bathroom with stylish grey hues, the perfect spot to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet as you soak in the free-standing bath or freshen up with a rinse in the walk-in shower. Grab your towel from the fabulous, heated rail and retreat up the staircase to one of the two well-appointed bedrooms; a gorgeous king-size with fresh white linens and muted grey tones, and a quaint twin decorated with pretty floral accents. Kick-start your mornings with a delicious cup of tea out in the garden, before grabbing your waterproofs and comfiest walking boots and heading for a scenic stroll through Glenlivet and the Cairngorms, or Abernethy National Nature Reserve. See Lecht Mine and Corgarff Castle, or spend the day in Aviemore and discover Aviemore Ring Cairn and Stone Circle, Strathspey Steam Railway and the Highland Wildlife and Birdwatch Safaris, providing fun for the whole family. Wander the grand estate of Rothiemurchus, home to a 13th-century island fortress and many exciting activities for all to enjoy. Avid walkers should be sure to challenge themselves to a hike to the peak of Ben Macdui, whilst historians will relish in a trip to the 18th century ruins of Ruthven Barracks, the Duke of Gordon's Monument and the 13th-century fortress of Balvenie Castle. Seek thrills at Zip Trek Adventure Park Aviemore and Landmark Forest Adventure Park, or see wild creatures at the Highland Wildlife Park. On return to the cottage be sure to stop off for dinner and drinks down at the local, or pick up ingredients from the local store. Warm, clean, cozy and comfortable. The log burner was a nice bonus along with the complimentary essential (tea, coffee, milk, eggs and biscuit), food basket.

Our dog enjoyed her stay too. We did have some problems operating the shower. We don't know many people who enjoy the same kind of holidays as us which explains why we gave an 8for our likelyhood of recommending the cottage to others. It offers exactly what we need as keen walkers.

Was clean, well equipped with a lovely welcome pack and was very dog friendly with an enclosed back patio. Lots of walks on the doorstep and further afield amongst stunning countryside. We were so lucky with the weather. Really friendly village with a good selection of places to eat. Would definitely return.
