The large leather settee in the sitting area. From the sitting room doors open out onto a patio area complete with picnic bench and guests can certainly enjoy some outside dining on the warmer days. Aberlour itself is a pretty village with a broad High Street providing a great selection of shops and cafes and the local fish and chip shop comes highly recommended! Fishing is available, as you would expect, on the River Spey and permits are available locally. For golfers there are several top quality courses within an easy drive and nearby Dufftown has a challenging hilly 18 hole course. For cyclists the Moray Monster Trails provide 18 miles of single track mountain bike routes for all levels, and for walkers there is of course the wonderful Speyside Way. Wildlife is easy to spot in this unspoilt area of Scotland with around 60 species of birds along with wild cats, pine martens and much much more. You can always just pop in your car and drive through the pretty quiet roads, stopping at the many craft cafes and distilleries along the way. A truly magical location and a cosy and smart holiday home to enjoy.

The small, pretty town of Aberlour lies on the banks of the River Spey, and is surrounded by wonderful open countryside, with the Caringorm Mountains on one side and the Moray Firth coast on the other.

Only thing that spoiled it the weather but still enjoyed it would definitely go back

I booked the kilt because it had a wet room and was all on one level because my daughter uses a powered wheelchair, and we accept that no two wheelchair users are the same so it is almost impossible to find properties which are perfect, the biggest problem was transferring from wheelchair into bed but as usual we adapted and managed, apart from that we were comfortable and enjoyed our holiday and we wouldn’t hesitate to use the kilt again, thank you

Well equipped, warm and comfortable. Nice location for responsible dog owners, with quiet walks nearby.
