Gladstone Cottage receives glowing praise for its welcoming hosts, excellent cleanliness, and well-equipped, comfortable interiors. Guests appreciate the secure garden, ideal for dogs, and the convenient location for exploring Caithness, Orkney, and the North Coast. The cottage is described as cosy, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked, with many guests noting the helpfulness of the owners. While a few minor issues are mentioned, such as proximity to the road and occasional cold in winter, the overall experience is highly positive, making it a popular choice for repeat visits.

Cleanliness is consistently highlighted, with numerous guests describing the cottage as very clean, spotless, and well maintained. Only one review mentions a minor issue (an iron burn on the carpet), but this does not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The location is frequently praised as ideal for exploring the local area, including Caithness, Orkney, and the North Coast 500. Guests appreciate the proximity to beaches, walks, and local amenities. One guest noted the cottage is near a road, but this is a minor concern compared to the many positive comments.

Guests regularly describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and homely, with special mention of a comfortable bed and spacious living areas. A few minor comments about cold in winter and armchair comfort are noted, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The cottage is repeatedly described as very well equipped, with guests noting the presence of all necessary utensils, kitchen appliances (including an air fryer), and thoughtful extras. Only one review mentions a lack of plug sockets and a thin quilt, but these are exceptions.

Guests frequently mention thoughtful touches such as milk, tea, coffee, shopping bags, brollies, torches, and even a bag of ice in the freezer. The hosts are described as exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Please note that while some guests received small gifts or extras, these are not guaranteed for all stays.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Gladstone Cottage. The hosts Jan and Alan were very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The secure garden was wonderful having our little dog with us. We enjoyed sitting in it late afternoon each day. The cottage was well very well equipped. Everything you need is there. A bag of ice in the freezer was a really nice touch after a long drive having a G&T . The bed was extremely comfortable best we have ever had. If you’re considering booking it you won’t be disappointed
