Two of us and our 2 Collie dogs spent a week at the cottage after a 6 hour driving journey from our home in South Scotland . First impressions were tainted by a carpet stain in one bedroom that we felt we had to contact the owner to confirm she was aware. The actual cottage other than that was well presented, kitchen equipped with everything we needed Bathroom spacious with a great towel heater. A couple of door frames low for a 6ft2" guy but you soon learned how to 'duck' so no issues there. The property description is not accurate with regards to being open plan, large windows and views over surrounding countryside, have a look at the garden photo which incidentally hadn't had the grass cut for I would say 2 weeks but the dogs were fine with that it was cut on the thursday. We had no need to use the Tv, lounge and dining room as most of the time we sat outside am and pm but as I say no view as described and wildlife was limited to seagulls. The main issue for us was road noise. Single glaze windows didn't help. When in the bedroom the noise for 'normal' traffic was more than we are used to but it was the 'boy racers' on a night that were too much lasting to 2am. The cars hissing and back firing as they sped up the incline and then backed off. Hearing people walk past the cottage in the early house also kept us uneasy - we had the wheelie bin tipped over on one occasion.Tain itself was fine and our days out were lovely as were the local people we spoke to and I must include the teenagers who admired our dogs Very polite. We were able to park outside on the road so no issues there but your car is vulnerable with being on the roadside from being 'knocked' by passing cars as one person found out the following week. The offending car did not stop.We had a self inflicted issue with being locked out however the owner and cottage cleaner assisted for which we were grateful Thank you.We left the cottage tired. If the cottage could be relocated to a quieter area we would return. We would definitely visit the area of Scotland again and travel further North along the N C 500

We spent 4 weeks at this lovely cottage. We enjoyed every minute. Parking was almost always available right in front of the home. The heated towel rack in the bathroom was an unexpected bonus. We were so close to restaurants and activities. We would definitely stay again.
