Guests say

Guests have found the cottage to be a cosy and comfortable retreat, offering a peaceful and idyllic setting ideal for exploring Skye. The property is well-equipped, with a warm welcome and thoughtful touches appreciated by many. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with the tranquillity and rural charm frequently praised.

The majority of guests describe the cottage as clean and tidy, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, a few reviews mention areas where cleanliness could be improved, suggesting attention to detail in certain aspects.

The location is consistently praised for its quietness, scenic views, and proximity to local attractions and amenities. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the Isle of Skye, with its rural setting being a highlight for many visitors.

Comfort is a strong point for this property, with guests finding the beds comfy and the cottage warm. The open fire and cosy atmosphere are frequently mentioned, although some guests noted that the floors could be noisy and the water temperature unstable at times.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the kitchen being well-equipped and additional amenities like games and DVDs available. However, there are comments about the lack of a dishwasher, some heating issues, and the need for maintenance, which affects the score.

While some guests mention a warm welcome and thoughtful touches like a basket of goodies, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Clean, friendly and roomy. The host was super available for quick questions and recommendations. Great midway spot to visit the Northern Skye, Outdoor museum & Fairy Glenns. Nearby Uig offered a few good restaurants.

Garden would have been a nice feature but seems to have been neglected it was very overgrown . The property itself appears very tired & would benefit from redecorating . Nice soft furnishings don't compensate for dirty walls & scratched wooden floors. The property at first glimpse gives the impression of being clean but you soon realise it is grimy & only has a quick wipe down. The kitchen requires a deep clean , greasy surfaces , the toaster had been left over flowing with crumbs , waste bins filthy , oven dirty etc.Cupbpard beneath sink water damaged & door fell off whilst there. There is a washing up bowl collecting dripping water from the U bend under the sink ! The heating was a confusion of storage heaters (which were not programmed to come on , on our arrival & so the cottage was cold), electric fan heaters & an open fire. The heating was confusing & inadequate for an open plan design. Generally I found the property depressing. It annoys me that the owners of this property feel it is acceptable to take our money for a worn , dirty inhospitable property. Shame on you
