Moorhen Lodge receives high praise for its cleanliness, tranquil woodland setting, and comfortable amenities. Guests consistently commend the friendly and helpful hosts, Helen and David, and appreciate the wildlife encounters. The lodge's facilities, including a hot tub, are well-received, and thoughtful touches like a welcome box of goodies add to the positive experience. The peaceful location offers both seclusion and proximity to Inverness, making it an ideal retreat.
Reviewers unanimously mention the spotless condition of Moorhen Lodge, highlighting its immaculate cleanliness as a standout feature.
The lodge's location in a peaceful woodland setting, with wildlife sightings and proximity to Inverness, is highly praised, though the remote nature and small parking space are noted.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the lodge peaceful, contributing to a restful stay. The presence of a wood-stove and hot tub further enhances comfort.
The lodge is well-equipped with a large fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV, sound-bar, and reliable WiFi. The hot tub is a favourite feature, although the suggestion of adding robes indicates a minor area for improvement.
Many guests mention the thoughtful welcome box and the provision of essentials, which contribute to a pleasant stay. While gifts are appreciated, they are a bonus and not a guaranteed amenity.

This peaceful perfect cabin, surrounded by nature in abundance, was a much needed break for us. We were brave to follow the instructions given to us by David & Helen & not the satnav, as you will end up going around in circles. Had the best nights sleep in a while & loved waking up to the red squirrels & finches galore on the feeder. Thank you Helen & David for sharing your cabin to us & providing pretty much everything we needed ! Canât wait to return Lizzie, Tim & Jessie

The area was perfect. Secluded, quiet and peaceful. However, shops were just a 10 minute drive away. The cabin and surrounding woods were spotless. As was the hot tub. Plenty of forest walks for the dog, and lots of wildlife to see from the cabin window. We particularly liked watching the squirrels. David & Helen were just a text or phone call away if we needed anything. We loved our time at Moorhen Lodge, and are now home feeling refreshed and well rested. We would definitely recommend a visit.

The log cabin was everything you could ask for, spotless, comfortable, everything at hand that is needed and more. The peace and quiet is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. Plenty of places to visit and amazing views. It's good to waken in the morning and watch the birds and red squirrels eating off the feeders. The hosts go far and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and ask you to contact them if anything is required. We will definitely return to Moorhen lodge in the future Karen and John
