Farr makes a great base for exploring the north. It was great seeing all the different birds in the garden and sometimes a herd of deer in the field opposite.

I’m unsure where to start as we arrived and open the door. It smelt of damp. Also the windows were all wide open and it was freezing cold. Also, I understand is a cottage where you can take a dog the initial carpets coming in were in poor condition and dirty. None of the electrical equipment in The cottage worked particularly well and although it is not the Borland and all there was no true matching cluttery and cops et cetera I genuinely felt like I was imposing on somebody’s house an elderly person‘s house. The caretaker was very good and answered questions quickly for us. I found the electric blanket uncomfortable and my husband and I decided to remove it. It looks very old. It didn’t have a plug on the end of it so I’m not sure as to the point of it and it has some dubious stains. I did not leave a review as the people staying in for the two weeks prior to us had left such a glowing review. I was confused.Lovely area, lots of birds and deer, but I would not wish to stay there again. I regularly use cottages.com and this is the first time I have been disappointed.
