Please note: There is direct unfenced access to the beach and sea yards away.. Rowan House stands detached in the small community of Fiskavaig towards the north west end of the Isle of Skye. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard, it makes the perfect base for exploring or for relaxing in, with your every need catered for. From the full height glazing, you can look out and may be lucky enough to watch seals playing on the beach immediately in front of the house. Or you can try a spot of fishing from the beach, just yards away - the location of Rowan House is truly wonderful!
The Isle of Skye is one of the best known Scottish islands and is particularly famous for its spectacular scenery, dramatic history, diverse wildlife and its unspoilt beaches along with many fabulous restaurants, numerous walking, climbing and mountain biking routes, and a large range of watersports all within an easy drive. A visit to the Talisker Distillery and Visitor Centre, just a few miles from the house, is highly recommended. Here you can try the only single malt distilled on the island.
Take a trip up to the small village of Dunvegan where you can explore the castle and gardens, and from here you can also take a walk along the coastline to visit the Coral Beach, highly recommended whatever the weather. Portree, the island’s bustling capital, is well worth a visit with its lovely harbour and colourful houses, along with a good range of shops, pubs and great places to eat. There are also boat trips, a swimming pool, galleries and tea rooms.
To the north east you will find the Trotternish Peninsula, famous for its dramatic rock formations and cliffs, and to the southern end of the island you will enter the Sleat Peninsula known as ‘The Garden of Skye’. From here you can cross over the Skye Bridge and see some of the spectacular scenery and small villages dotted along this unspoilt coastline such as Plockton, Lochcarron and Applecross to name just a few. The area is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, but the less energetic can just sit back, relax and watch the ever-changing scenery from the comfort of a chair. Wonderful happy memories will be made whilst on holiday at Rowan House. Beach 5 yards. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant 13 miles.

Just back from a fantastic stay at Rowan House. Perfect base to explore the island. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The beach right outside the front door was a winner for the kids. We spent a lot of time skimming stones and looking for wee creatures in the rock pools. Our first time visiting Skye, and we hope it won't be the last. Would highly recommend anyone to use Rowan House as a base. We loved it here.

We had a great week staying at Rowan House. The setting is amazing, right beside the sea, private and quiet. We relaxed watching the tide rise and fall and the weather blow through. The house is superbly equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It's a short drive to Carbost for the community shop , the pub and the Tallisker distillery.The only extra thing we'd have liked would be an electric car charge point as the public charge points on Skye proved to be thin on the ground and somewhat unreliable.

This is an amazing lake side house to stay in. The pictures don't really do justice to the house and location where it sits. This is a truly wonderful well appointed house which we have loved to stay in. Our only regret is that we had to come back home !The views of the Loch and surrounding area are truly stunning. The house is fully fitted out with modern easy to use appliances and the rooms are well proportioned beautifully clean and stunning full sized glass doors and windows to sit and watch the colours change through the day and night.We loved it.
