    Falkirk Holiday Cottages

Set in the central lowlands of Scotland, Falkirk is a large town north of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Falkirk beautifully balances modern and contemporary art and architecture with its beautiful green surroundings. Home to the world-renowned Kelpies – 30-metre high sculptures of the shape-shifting water spirits bearing a striking resemblance to horses – tourists flock from miles around to visit these as well as ‘the Helix’ space around them, and the town’s rotating boat wheel, The Falkirk Wheel. History buffs will appreciate a trip to the Antonine Wall, a second century frontier of the Roman Empire and now a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our Falkirk holiday cottages cater to all getaway requirements. Large groups and families can venture out to stay on working farm cottages, surrounded by livestock and grassy fields. Couples can snuggle down together in cosy cottages with crackling open fires, traditional low ceilings and even a private hot tub. If leaving your best canine friend behind is out of the question, don't worry! We have plenty of dog-friendly properties too.

At Snaptrip, we’re proud to list thousands of holiday cottages across the UK, with every booking covered by our best price guarantee. If the vast choice is all a little too much, our friendly customer service team are available to help you find your next perfect destination.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Graham - Verified booking

In short we loved our stay at Braeface Cottage.

Returned home from a week of relaxation, peace and quite, just what the doctor ordered, staying at the Braeface Cottage. Rob and Lynne are very welcoming and and helpful, giving advice, information on where to go and places to take your dog. A welcome pack is provided just to help you settle in along with a number of basic items, milk for example. Rob and Lynne even provide towels for your dog and throws for the furniture. Rob called shortly after our arrival and talked us through the use of various items, tv, heating etc. Our dog Lara enjoyed the enclosed gardens, which gave us peace of mind while she was out exploring. The accommodation was very comfortable with just about everything you will need for your stay. Loved the big and very comfortable beds. My wife wanted to take the kitchen home only thing missing was a dryer. The property is well located for trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sterling withe the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel within easy reach. We did have a couple of minor issues, not enough to spoil our break, but on reporting these to Rob, these were addressed almost immediately. Yes we would recommend Braeface Cottage as a place to stay, and we are looking to rebook. Graham & Chrissie

      Lovely cottage.

Very clean. Ideal for visiting kelpies (25mins away) and other local attractions eg loch Lomond approx just over an hour. Property is comfortable with plenty of logs for the fire. Bathroom did not have a lock on the door but I mentioned this to the owner as a suggestion and she said it would be done that very day so they take on board any comments for improvements. I did take my one year old cocker spaniel but unlike some of the other reviews that say it's very safe in the garden for dogs I personally didn't feel it was safe enough to allow her off lead due to very low fences and gate at the front and large gaps under the side fence at the front. Her recall outside is fairly good but I just would not risk it. This comment is not meant as a criticism merely for information if you have a young dog or an escape artist dog... The owners do provide dog towels, dog bed, bowl and sofa covers so that was all great. Overall we had a lovely stay. Thank you.

When we entered the cottage, we were really impressed at the size and also the decoration.

The kitchen extension was breathtaking and we immediately knew we would be having a wonderful week. Rob popped in a few times to make sure we knew how to use the heating and show us other things we needed to know He also kept in touch by text and his personal touch was the perfect start to our break. A lovely host. The enclosed garden at the front and back of the cottage have us peace of mind to let harry wander about safely. He instantly adapted to his new home and the comfortable, warm , cosy interior was a major factor in this. Lazy mornings were followed by afternoon adventures to different destinations , e.g the kelpies. All this was ended by quiet, cosy evenings in our beautiful cottage. As 25 year veterans of pet friendly holidays all over Scotland and North England, We can heartily recommend staying at Braeface Cottage. You won't be dissapointed

Our family stay at Sheildhill Farm House was truly wonderful.

We were a party of 5 adults, 4 children and two dogs. Accommodation on arrival was warm, clean and very comfortable. We all enjoyed the pool table (many tournaments and killer pool games) and the spacious hot tub. The farm house itself is very spacious, large rooms with plenty of space to find a quirky space to settle in a comfie chair and read a book or play a board game with family. There was a huge variety of books and toys to entertain our youngest 2yr old member of the party. Now when it comes to describing our hosts we can't praise them enough, Suzannah was always friendly and exceedingly helpful no matter the query. Hospitality was superb, we all throughly enjoyed the bountiful supply of home made scones with butter and jam! One of the very best breaks we've enjoyed as a family and I'm hopeful we will return. Thank you!

We recently stayed at sheildhill Farmhouse for 3 nights.

We were a party of 9 from baby through to grandparents and found the price good value for the number of people. The house is absolutely fabulous and Savannah the host has thought of everything. The property is very private and peaceful but also only a few minutes drive into Falkirk. Really comfy beds with high quality bedding, well equipped kitchen, hottub was a fantastic addition with a beautiful back drop of countryside. The house was spotlessly clean. Suzannah was very quick to respond to emails and gave us her number incase of any problems. Lots to do in the local area, we intend to come back for a week next year to spend more time enjoying the property as well the local area. Welcome goodies of freshly baked scones, coffee etc was also much appreciated.
