"We thoroughly enjoyed our break at Airyhemming Dairy. I was concerned after reading previous reviews. No way had they stayed at the same cottage. The downstairs shower room was never cold nor did it have a hole in the wall. There was no issue with the hot water or the heating. The house was lovely and cosy. We had lovely fresh fluffy towels throughout all rooms. The out buildings are in need of renovation, however they have restricted access. You would tell any children to play in the big back garden. The hot tub was fabulous, very clean. How often do you get a games room yet people feel they have to complain or make negative comment. The internet went offline and the owner could not have done more than he did to sort it. Lovely property in a beautiful setting. Definitely be back. Forgot to mention the bags of logs and kindling that were left much appreciated."

"Can't take kids there a lot of adjacent out buildings with hazardous items there Ensuite freezing due to massive hole in outside wall where waste pipe goes in where waste pipe is held up with lots of stone's Games room very tired looking equipment inadequate and dont work very well"

"Lovely clean cottage, but missed a few guides to electrical equipment, kitchen untensils require attention and more door hooks please. The location was a bit remote from amenities, but nice if you like the quiet tranquil countryside. Not too impressed with the derelict cottage next door, but the owner may have plans to renovate in the future. A few flowers outside to brighten the place up would be nice."

"The cottage was a great size for the family of 4 and 2 family members who joined us for 2 nights. Beds were comfy but could have used a wardrobe in the main bedroom. Kitchen lacked some utensils and dishwasher did not work but working big fridge and good cooker ensured self catering was not an issue. Hot tub good but could have done with better garden furniture. Games room and WiFi all good. Overall cottage was great but needed a patch up here and there. If you want entertaining and local amenities this is not for you. We wanted a quiet rural holiday and that's what we got. Good fishing, cycling and walking all on door step. Good beaches, restaurants and shops all within 20 mins drive.Owners communication helpful and friendly."

"A lack of communication between the owner and those that cleaned/maintained the cottage found us arriving to an unprepared cottage. However, those that came to do the cleaning and prepare the cottage did so with little fuss and full of apologies. A few teething problems with regards the availability of hot water and heating were resolved the next morning. The accommodation was in a lovely quiet location, aside a path where the cows were herded to and from the dairy for milking, which my dog loved. The gardens were pleasant and well kept, with the gardener cutting the grass on Wednesday. The cottage was suitably equipped with Sky TV, comfortable suite, log burner in main room, kitchen had sufficient storage, large fridge freezer and oven/hob. There was a dishwasher, but this was unserviceable for the duration of our stay, awaiting a part. The 3 bedrooms (1 ensuite) were all comfortable and made for a good nights rest, with very comfortable beds. Overall, we really enjoyed the accommodation and the surroundings, allowing us to give our dog the freedom from the lead! Would definitely go back again, with or without the 20+ degrees weather we got most days! Thanks!"

"Lovely cottage, very comfortable and warm. main bedroom needs a wardrobe as not enough hanging space for six. We were fine as there was only two of us. Lovely views of the countryside. Very large garden with hot tub. Lovely area, visit to Portpatrick is a must, Harbour view pup well worth a visit, lovely food. The owner Stuart is always on hand for any problems. Lovely place will return."

"Hot tub left hand stanchion snapped did not stop us using it. Logs left too large for wood burner had to buy our own. No instruction book for TV. Could have done with more local leaflets. A few well placed hooks inside and outside would help. Most of these comments had been mentioned by previous visitors. It is a nice cottage with good facilities but just needs a little bit more attention to detail."

"Had a lovely stay, the cottage was well equipped and nicely decorated inside, our two children loved the games room!We had quite a bit of snow while we were there which meant that due to the steep slope up to the property, we couldn't get our car all the way up so had to leave it at the entrance. It looked lovely in the snow though and we even braved the hot tub in it! As said previously it would benefit from somewhere near the hot tub to hang towels or dressing gowns as we couldn't leave them on the snow! We had some lovely walks from the cottage, you really could walk for miles and probably not see another person. A few bits in the games room were a little tatty and in need of repair, pool cues were broken on the ends and some of the Wii games didn't work. Overall though we had a lovely, comfortable stay and the cottage was nice and warm which we needed at the time of year we visited."

"At first glance this cottage is decorated in a nice style and is neutral throughout, it is also in a lovely countryside location and feels cosy. Although there was just myself and my partner there for this visit, it is perfect for families and groups as there is certainly enough room. Unfortunately the cottage didn't live up to the standard it could achieve if it was maintained properly. Firstly on arrival it was freezing inside and we couldn't get the heating to work, we spoke to the owner who said someone would come up in 5-10 minutes and after about 30-40 minutes we had a call to say it would heat up in about an hour. We had the great idea to snuggle up in front of the log burner until the place heated up but unfortunately there were no matches or lighters in the house! If we had been told on the listing we would have brought our own. Anyway, the heating did come on within the hour and we had no issues with it since. There were so many things that bothered us that would mostly be easily sorted out and would make the place so much better. The water pressure was terrible, especially in the shower in the main bathroom as it was leaking more water than you were showering in, the en-suite in the second bedroom was better but still not great. The temperature of the taps would never get up to more than lukewarm and you had to wait a long time for that to happen as well so everyday I washed in cold water. There's also a leak on the kitchen tap when its turned up high. The walls have a lot of marks (especially scrapes in bedroom 3) that could easily be repaired. The fronts of the drawers we used in the main bedroom were all falling off and we had to keep trying to push them on, also we weren't sure why there wasn't a wardrobe put in that room with it being so large it could easily be done? One major thing for me was also that the towels that were left all smelled of cigarette smoke. Also the glasses and dishes were somewhat dirty when we arrived, one wineglass had dried wine in the bottom, luckily we brought our own dishwasher tablets which cleaned everything up (we wondered if maybe it was due to cheap tablets and hopefully not due to not cleaning at all). The extractor fan in the kitchen doesn't work. In the main bathroom the sink had obviously been cracked or broken off and there was a sloppy repair job on it, also one of the taps had the top missing. It would be really useful to have some hooks on the wall next to the hot tub since we had to take a chair out every time we went in for our towels and robes. Lastly we only slept on the main bedroom mattress but its the worst one I've ever slept on, it was thin but also knackered as we both fell towards the middle and you could feel every spring in it. Being I have a joint pain disease this wasn't great for me. If all of these things were looked at it would have been top marks for us, it's such a shame that a lovely cottage like this has been let go, if we had stayed here at the peak of the season and paid the highest rate we would have been really upset to be honest. The games room was a great idea for that room and we did play pool down there, just the same as the house area though, it needs a little attention. Like I've said most of these things can easily be sorted and I would suggest that the owners may want to stay in the cottage as guests for a week to see what it's like, that way they will discover what needs attention. We did still have a nice break together since at the moment we live with family but it did just take the shine off it a little for us."

"Had a lovely stay with my husband and 12 year old son. The cottage is really well equipped compared with other cottages we have stayed in. Hot tub was amazing although could do with smoother path to get there (take flip flops). Decor was beautiful and the layout of cottage was stunning. It is a bit far out however first cottage we have stayed at where we had a Chinese that could deliver! Good games room for kids also"
