Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness issues such as bathroom floor hairs. Overall, the high level of cleanliness contributes positively to the guests' experiences.

The location is highly praised for its lovely walks, peaceful village setting, and proximity to sightseeing spots and the beach. The tranquillity and natural beauty of the area are frequently mentioned as highlights.

Comfort receives positive remarks for the spaciousness and garden, but there are mixed reviews about the mattresses and sofas, with some guests finding them too hard or uncomfortable. Personal preferences for bedding firmness and seating comfort vary among guests.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good heating system. However, some guests suggest improvements such as updating sofas and adding privacy blinds. The absence of a dishwasher is noted, but the presence of a washing machine is appreciated.

While guests mention thoughtful touches like blankets and a coffee maker, there is no consistent mention of gifts, and therefore it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the provision of gifts. It should be noted that any gifts provided are a bonus and not guaranteed.

The property was perfect for us being single story, with a walk-in shower and a choice of double or twin rooms. All rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the dining table being in the side conservatory feels slightly less comfortable. However we’re on holiday and it’s a very minor issue as is the tuneful bathroom plumbing! We found the village to be extremely peaceful surrounded by beautiful countryside and places to explore. We also ventured further afield on a couple of days with easy access via Annan to the motorway north.

The garden is not dog secure but we used the bins to make a barrier and all was well. There is no dishwasher, but there is a good washing machine with a line and pegs. A nice touch. The oven shelves could do with a clean please. Plenty of crockery and cutlery which was good as some places have the bare minimum. Anyone staying must read the heating and hot water instructions as they are a bit different from usual. But plenty of water and warm once we sussed it out. We did enjoy our stay, the peace and quiet of the village is wonderful. Lovely walks on the marshes and coast.

It is in a little quiet village and we had a nice time. Easy to get to places including Dumfries house about one and half hours away. Thank you.
