Guests say

Machermore Cottage is a beautifully presented rural retreat, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning views over farmland to the sea. Guests consistently highlight the peaceful, tranquil setting, abundant wildlife, and well-equipped interior. While the remote location means amenities are a short drive away, most visitors found this added to the cottage's charm and sense of escape. The property is ideal for those seeking relaxation, nature, and dark skies for stargazing. Minor suggestions include improved fire instructions and larger single beds, but overall, guests thoroughly enjoyed their stays and would happily return.

The cottage is repeatedly described as spotless, exceptionally clean, and well maintained. Only one review mentioned small patches of black mould in a bedroom, but this did not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The rural, peaceful location with spectacular views is a major highlight for guests. While the lack of immediate amenities is noted, most reviewers saw this as a positive, contributing to the tranquillity and appeal of the cottage.

Guests found the cottage warm, spacious, and very comfortable, with quality furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. One minor comment was made about the size of single beds for adults, but overall comfort is highly rated.

The cottage is described as very well equipped, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including good internet, kitchen appliances, washing machine, and dishwasher. Some guests suggested a BBQ and clearer fire instructions, but facilities are generally praised.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Lovely cottage with loads of space and views to die for. We saw deer in the field, hares and sheep on the lawn. Beautiful tranquil base. The road to Port William is spectacular, no nearby amenities but as long as you go fully equipped you'll have an amazing break.
