Explore famous castles, stunning gardens or enjoy forest trails suitable for walking and cycling. Visit Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain and Oban Distillery.

Blackmills cottage was by far the best accommodation I've been to in many years of cottage holidays. My son and i faced an issue and Claire (owner) was only too willing to help and allowed us to enter the property early, which was very much appreciated. The welcome gifts were wonderfully thought about and well received. The cottage was absolutely spotless and modern with well thought out furniture and decor, including a 'smart' Tv, Offering all channels. A perfect cottage to use as a base or for just lounging around in.Lovely and quiet, day and night with only local people's cars going along the Lane. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location. Great if you like nature, walking and exploring. Comfy beds with blinds and curtains to ensure good sleep, which is an essential to me. Very clean and good value, reasonably priced. My only small criticism would be I would appreciate larger bath sheet towels, sharp knives and a larger fridge as we had trouble fitting the food in it, a must have for self-catering. If you are planning on eating out we struggled to find places open as they shut early and certain days there were none open. No takeaway deliveries or collections available or even supermarket food shopping deliveries either! A beautiful welcome pack of goodies as well much appreciated. We would return.

Blackmills Cottage is an excellent choice for a holiday. It is warm, comfortable and fully equipped to the highest standard with everything required for a holiday stay. The owners have clearly given a lot of thought to making this a 5 star property. It is in a great location withing easy reach of Oban and handily situated just off the main road giving access to the Connell Bridge for Glencoe and Fort William, for Crianlarich for Loch Lomond and the Kintyre Peninsula. There is an excellent general store in the village with all the basic needs catered for. Sadly the butcher's is now closed and, on the night we went to the local pub, which is only a couple of hundred yards from the cottage, the kitchen was closed and not serving food. This did, however, appear to be a one-off.
