Rothesay is a Victorian seaside town that has managed to maintain its historic, grand architecture. The town has a good selection of gift shops cafés and bars. For outdoor lovers, Bute has extraordinarily varied landscapes, lochs, and sandy beaches at Kilchattan Bay (8.3 miles) and Ettrick Bay (4.6 miles) to the northwest. Bute offers stunning views of the neighbouring island of Arran and is a haven for walking, cycling, fishing, wild swimming, golf and wildlife.
