About this property

Kilmartin 8 miles. Settled in the rural village of Ford in the Scottish Highlands, is this romantic, one-bedroom cottage, The School Room. Surrounded by countryside and enjoying a rustic interior with a woodburning stove, this converted school room is ideal for a couple's getaway. On arrival, be greeted by off-road parking with stepping inside to the porch; here you can hang your coats ready for a countryside ramble. Moving through the property, find the fitted kitchen hosting an electric oven and hob to prepare heart-warming meals and a dishwasher for an easy clean! Adjacent, you will locate the living/dining room, where you can kick back and relax on the sofa as the woodburning stove crackles before you and the TV plays your favourite shows. In the summer months, soak in the tranquil setting from the lawned garden with a cold beverage; afterwards indulge in a soak in the ground-floor bathroom. When sleep calls, retire upstairs to the mezzanine bedroom, housing a four-poster bed to rest your head, so why not climb in and open up a good book? Awaken with a steaming cup of coffee and make use of the kitchen appliances to rustle up home-cooked meals. Just a short stroll away is Loch Awe; here you can find a quiet fishing spot to unwind, hire boats and kayaks, as well as keep a look out for a 15the century castle. Jump in the car to visit the ruins of Carnasserie Castle, see great birds at Kintail Birds of Prey Argyll and soak in the past at Kilmartin's standing stones. Admire the coastal vistas from Bellanoch Viewpoint, explore Knapdale Scottish Beaver Trail to spot beavers and stroll along Dunardy Locks Crinan Canal for a peaceful setting. For a romantic escape to the Scottish Highlands, choose The School Room. EPC Rating: Band C

Ardfern Village Store, which is also well-known for its home-baked pies, is a good place to stock up on necessities, or why not visit Lochgilphead for a flurry of shops? The magnificent Kilmory Castle lies just south of Lochgilphead, where you may immerse yourself in the history or enjoy a cup of tea with a view at The National Trust for Scotland, which is situated alongside Loch Melfort.
