What our customers say about their holidays

    • Linda - Verified booking

      Well where to start.

The cottage was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Initially the road up to the cottage was a little off putting but we soon got used to it. The situation is lovely with great views from the paddock. John and Sue are lovely and it was great having them there to ask about places to visit. We would have missed a few gems otherwise. The cottage itself was as described in the advert, just right. It was great to see it had everything required and lots of nice touches like, candles and matches and even a torch. Good quality bedding, pots and pans etc. This made such a difference to the comfort of our holiday. There was nothing missing from the cottage that I needed. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would like to thank Sue and John for a really lovely relaxing week. We will be back.

The cottage was lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped.

The owner was very helpful and provided us with lots of useful information and web links which enabled us to plan activities and book them easily. There is so much to do and see locally and everyone was really friendly. We had a great week, many walks (we saw a beaver) boat trips (seals, eagles and the whirlpool) visited ancient sites and the Kilmartin museum but also enjoyed just chilling out at the cottage, cooking, reading or watching the boats navigating the canal. The lads were pleased the WiFi was there to keep in touch with friends but most of the time we were doing things together which is what a family holiday is all about. The whole area is full of beautiful places and interesting things to do and see. Most of it totally free. We came home refreshed with tales to tell.

      Absolutely loved this cottage.

If you are looking for a 'get away from it all' holiday but with easy access to the wider part of this area of Scotland, then I cannot recommend Mullach highly enough. The setting is idyllic, so peaceful and the ideal place to unwind. We had neighbours staying in the other cottage but did not hear anything from them and had a huge front garden which we could just relax in. John, the owner, could not have been more helpful and gave us some really useful tips of where to visit. Our 16 year old loved the upstairs bedroom and our 2 year dog loved the paddock to run round in. We did have the added advantage of fabulous weather while we were there but Mullach would be a perfect place to stay no matter what the weather was like. We hope to return at some point in the future.

We've just had a fantastic week at Crinan Canal Cottage.

The cottage is in a fantastic location, really close to brilliant places to visit, down a peaceful lane beside the canal. The cottage was great, just what we wanted. It was clean, warm (we were there for a wet week in winter) and comfortable with everything in excellent condition and well maintained. It had all of the facilities to make it a great home for the week - wood burning stove, room heaters, washer, dish washer, cooker, fridge, tv etc. The owner has been brilliant throughout, sending useful information such as potential places to visit before our stay and even a couple of updates on where was open whilst we were there (handy for January and during a pandemic). Nina our dog loved the cottage and location too. We'd happily go back and recommend it to anyone.

Lovely stay, the cottage was warm and cosy, even without the woodburner but this was a bonus and we did use it in the evening.

It is well equipped and a really convenient location for amenities and walks. My only slight issue and only reason for not giving 5 stars for everything was the mattress; I struggle with my back and found it a quite lumpy and uncomfortable but it wouldn't put me off staying again I would just take my own pillows & supports next time. The owner was really friendly and helpful, giving us lots of information and recommendations for things to do. We even had some good weather and the dog loved being in the enclosed garden in the sun. The green that separates the cottages from the canal road was great for exercising the dog on too and meant you weren't coming out of the cottage straight onto the road which was great.
