Despite its remote location, the property provides a memorable and highly recommended experience.
There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score for this category.
The location is highly praised for its peaceful setting and proximity to local attractions, including the Cowal Peninsula, Kilmartin Glen, and the Isle of Bute. Guests enjoy the surrounding Scottish countryside and the convenience of nearby villages.
Guests find The Prince comfortable and roomy, with a cosy wood-burning stove and a comfy bed. The unique accommodation is well-equipped, though one guest mentioned the challenge of low beams for taller individuals.
The Prince is described as well-appointed and quirky, with a well-equipped kitchen, fast internet, and a unique square bath. However, a suggestion for a shower mount indicates room for improvement in the bathroom facilities.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through the welcome pack and personal touches. While gifts are warmly received and contribute to the experience, it should be noted that such gestures are at the hosts' discretion and may not be guaranteed.

Argyll’s Secret Coast with its sparkling sea lochs, romantic ruins, ancient forests, and stunning scenery is one of the most stunning areas, a magical undiscovered corner of Cowal. The beautiful village of Tighnabruaich, with stunning views over the loch to the Kyles of Bute, is close by, and Portavadie Marina with restaurant and spa facilities is open to non-residents. The ferry to Tarbert can also be taken from Portavadie to explore the beautiful Kintyre Peninsula. Walkers should seek out the newly opened Cowal Way, a long-distance walk running from Portavadie to Arrochar. The town of Dunoon is nearby and offers a good center for shopping, leisure facilities, and a small cinema.
The Argyll Forest, part of the simply gorgeous Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, is on the doorstep and has numerous forest tracks, marked walks, cycleways, and wonderful waterfalls to explore. For those a bit more adventurous, the ferry at Colintraive to Rhubodach takes only 3 minutes to cross the sea loch and arrive on the Isle of Bute, a famous tourist destination over the years with many attractions such as Mount Stuart House and Gardens, as well as the Victorian seaside resort of Rothesay. Loch Fyne with its famous restaurant and oyster bar is not far away, as is Inveraray; both great for a day trip. Beach 10 miles.
This property can be booked together with Hobgoblin Apartment (UK42205) to accommodate up to 4 guests.
There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.

Charming, homely, historic, a one-off, The Prince is ideally situated for exploring the joys of the Cowal Peninsula and beyond. Very good village store 15 minutes away in Kames and fresh fish, produce, delicatessen and restaurant 35 mins to The Oyster Bar on the road to Inveraray. (Go straight to jail!) I went on up to Kilmartin Glen and the excellent Kilmartin Museum. I was delighted to find the relaunched Art Gallery and contemporary art initiative in Tighnabruaich. Otter Ferry, with its Oyster Catcher restaurant is a favourite haunt. In my late seventies, I'm just getting used to solo holidays and this was perfect, supported by the warm welcome of Angus and Lynette.

Hobgoblin Apartments is an exceptional destination, ideally located to allow guests to enjoy the wealth of the surrounding Scottish countryside, lochs, castles, islands, and Argyll’s Secret Coast trail. Whether you like to explore on foot, by bicycle, or by car, Hobgoblin at Glendaruel is the place to be.Hosts Lynette and Angus work tirelessly to ensure guests enjoy their time here. The Prince, a wonderful boat with more than a century of rich history, sets a new standard for unique accommodation. Added to this is the fact that you can also enjoy a ‘wee dram’ on the outside decking without fear of falling into any water afterwards. The Prince is exceptionally well appointed and presented; it’s comfortable, quirky, and represents great value. As there is only one ‘Prince’, I recommend booking early…
