Catan Cottage is situated in the main courtyard area next to the impressive 14th Century Keep. It is adjacent to an extensive lawned area and a woodland area boasting many mature trees with a walkway throughout. The cottage sleeps four guests in one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. All accommodation is located on the ground floor. The cottage boasts modern and comfortable accommodation and benefits from hairdryer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, DVD player and free wifi. A log burner is located in the living room. A high chair and travel cot are available on request. Dogs are welcome in Catan. Enter the hallway that leads to each of the rooms. There is a modern open-plan living room / dining area, with well-equipped galley kitchen to the side. Enjoy playing one of the games provided in front of the cosy ‘Hobbit’ log burner, or enjoy a DVD or book. The comfortable bedrooms are located on the other side of the corridor, with a generous double room next to a twin room. Outside has a shared courtyard area and extensive lawns, complete with picnic tables and putting green. Off-road parking is available next to the cottage. The cottage is located in 20 acres of grounds, including an 18th Century walled garden. In addition to the putting green, a number of facilities are available for guest use including an all-weather tennis court and football goals. In the nearby village is an array of pubs, bars and tea rooms serving delicious food, as well as a golf course and beautiful sheltered beach. The next seaside town along is Rothesay, with many shops, cafés and restaurants, along with walking opportunities and open top bus tours. The Kames Estate is set near to Port Bannatyne on the East coast of the Isle of Bute. The port has a marina, a popular location for sailing the Kyles of Bute. There are pubs, bars and tea rooms serving locally sourced produce. Bute has some beautiful beaches and spectacular views over the Isles of the West Coast. You can spot seals, whales and a whole host of wildlife from the shore.
