We loved our holiday at Old Montrose. The grounds were superb - a sympathetically restored walled garden, lots of fruit trees and a woodland walk straight to the start of the lane leading to the Lurgies trail. The Old Gasworks was warm, comfortable and very well-equipped, with a generous welcome pack. Housekeeping had been done to an extremely high standard and all kitchen/bathroom necessities were provided. There was lots of information about the grounds and the local area. Richard was extremely approachable and was happy to help with recommendations or queries. We walked miles every day, either from the door or further afield. This area has wildlife, gardens, history, beaches and quiet countryside. We would not hesitate to return.

This property is in a lovely setting, surrounded by beautiful grounds. The accommodation is very comfortable. The two upstairs bedrooms are very spacious and attractively decorated, each with their own shower room. The downstairs one is not so spacious but comfortable and, although not ensuite, is right next to the bathroom. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would certainly like to return, especially if the beautiful weather we enjoyed could be repeated, in order to enjoy the picturesque surroundings at their best.
