Reviews consistently mention that the property is very clean, with guests feeling welcomed by the tidiness and the provision of little toiletries in the bathrooms.

The property is appreciated for its central location, ideal for exploring Scotland and its proximity to Mintlaw for essentials. The peaceful and quiet setting is also highlighted.

While beds are described as comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep, several guests found the chairs and sofas quite uncomfortable, which affected their overall comfort.

Great venue for large family gathering. Close to Mintlaw for food and essentials is nice, but not in town allows for peace and quiet.

We hadn’t explored this part of Scotland, there are plenty places to visit, and torreagles is in a great central location. Before I review our stay in the house, we all enjoyed our holiday, there were 5 adults, 3 in our 50s and 2 in their 80s and an old 14 year old dog. Why not 5 stars, everyone wants the bad news in reviews, well to get it out the way, all of us apart from my wife found the chairs and sofas so uncomfortable in the living room and games/cinema room, so much so it was painful and we would have early nights as we could not sit around anymore, the longest we stayed up was 10pm sitting around the dining table in the kitchen. Please note that this could just be old age and bad backs for 2 of us, but 4 out of 5 wasn’t a good time. The few other niggles were the projector in the cinema room was projecting an orange circle, so not watchable, pool table past being usable, fine for kids to pretend to play, Livivng room TV is good but not many channels and you need your own log in details for Netflix etc.And that’s the bad over and done with. The house, well wow was said a lot when we arrived, and for the next few hours a lot of where are you as we tried to find our way round. It’s a long walk from one end to the other, a very nice BIG house. All the bedrooms are big and the 3 showers were powerful hot showers. The beds were comfy and everybody said they had best sleep for ages. The kitchen has most things you would need for cooking, we did spend a lot of time in here, small sofa, breakfast bar and dinning table and a new TV which could watch iPlayer on. Only thing supplied after a lovely welcome basket was salt and pepper, and maybe olive oil, I guess health and safety means the rest can’t be trusted? Anyway it’s a fully stocked kitchen. The garden to the rear is massive and secure for the dogs/kids, a bit overgrown but well kept, room for 4 in the summer house which was used a lot to sit and read, we also sat out in the garden, 3 lots of tables and chairs in different locations. The house heated up very quickly with hive heating controls once we figured out how to work it. The smoke alarms work as we didn’t know how to work the cooker extractor fan (it pulls out and controls become visable). We ordered takeaway for delivery from the recommended Chinese, very nice. Pizza from takeaway at mintlaw roundabout was nice and Indian takeaway from one next to co-op was great. We had 2 cars and plenty driveway room for another 2 or even 3 with some moving about. All in all a great house, however until the sofas are replaced with something you can sit in I wouldn’t be back, do that and yes i would recommend (if you have Netflix, ITVX etc login details remember to take them with you or you will be stuck with a very few channels)
