. Bayview is a charming traditional seaside cottage occupying a prime position in the picture postcard village of Collieston. Originally two fisherman’s cottages; Bayview has been sympathetically converted and extended and now provides a high standard of accommodation in a superb setting. Situated in a quiet no through lane in an elevated position above the harbour, it looks down onto the pretty horse shoe shaped sandy beach and harbour.
All rooms enjoy fantastic sea views. The pretty lounge has a welcoming open fireplace and modern sofas. The conservatory at the far end of the cottage has large windows that maximise the views; an ideal venue to spot the passing sea life; porpoises, dolphins and seals are frequently seen close to shore. There is a bright, modern kitchen/dining room. Upstairs are two beautifully presented double bedrooms and a modern family bathroom. The gardens consist of small lawn terraces let into the adjoining slopes that lead down to the sea, via a series of meandering paths.

Our second stay at Bayview and another wonderful week. The ever-changing season and sky are mesmerising and being able to walk to the sheltered beach was perfect for our 3-year old. We spent many happy hours playing on the beach with family who live just a short drive down the coast. Beautiful evening walks with fantastic views and the cottage is within easy distance to Newburgh Seal Beach, Cruden Bay, Slains Castle and Aberdeen. Hazelhead Park is the best park we've ever been to. The cottage is perfect. Lovely new carpet and sofas in the cosy living room and generously-sized rooms. Boxes of toys and books were an exciting discovery! The beach shop is incredibly well stocked and we enjoyed some local strawberries.Sarah is a very attentive host. She delivered solar glasses for the eclipse and very kindly posted back an item we had left behind.I have no doubt that we will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Bayview Cottage. The location is simply stunning, with breathtaking sea views and a cosy, homely feel throughout. The conservatory was a favourite spot, allowing us to enjoy the scenery whatever the weather.The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the local area. We loved watching the ever-changing tides, local wildlife, and seeing children enjoying the nearby playground from the comfort of the cottage. Despite occasional rainy spells, the views and peaceful surroundings more than made up for it.Bayview is an excellent base for visiting nearby attractions including St Cyrus Beach and Nature Reserve, Balmedie Beach, Newburgh Seal Beach, Slains Castle, Fettercairn Distillery, Montrose, and Hackley Bay.The cottage was comfortable, well-equipped, and felt like a home away from home. We would highly recommend Bayview to anyone looking for a relaxing coastal getaway in a beautiful part of Scotland.A hidden gem that we would happily return to.
