I really enjoyed staying at Cedar Cottage, it’s difficult to fault. The location is excellent, down a quiet private road with views out to the green. It’s well located in easy reach of a myriad of National trust properties, Cairngorms hikes and the north coast. The house is very large for a 1 bedroom and is generally well equipped and very clean. I found the bed and sofas comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space which is not always the case! It was really good having a smart tv in the kitchen as well as the living room to watch while cooking. I actually didn’t use the living room very much. If I’m being picky, they only left 3 dishwasher tablets which was just about okay for me staying alone, but if you were a couple that wouldn’t have been enough for a week with only 4 of each item of crockery provided. Also the oven did not cook very well, I had to cook everything about 30 degrees higher and for longer. A coffee machine would have been welcome too!I would recommend though, a large well kept house in a quiet and convenient location.

This is our third stay at Cedar Cottage. It was in immaculate condition. The cottage is well equipped and located in an excellent position in the village. Great base for a holiday in the area.

Our 2nd visit to Cedar Cottage. We love the property which has the lounge upstairs with view over the village green. We wanted for nothing. The kitchen is fully equiped with a breakfast bar and a dining table. Comfortable seating in the lounge. A short walk brings you to the shops and cafes and the local supermarket. Strachans is like Dr Who's tardis. Everything you need under the one roof and a great whisky selection.Ballater, Banchory and Balmoral are all within a short drive away
