About this Hotel

Situated around a twenty minute walk from the main attractions in York city centre, St Georges offers well appointed guest accommodation ideal for couples or race-goers visiting nearby York Racecourse. Family-run, Kristine, Andrew and Joanne Livingstone offer a warm welcome to this award-winning B&B. It's located just ten minutes' walk from the Micklegate bar and the ancient walls of the city.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

We offer a choice of ten en-suite rooms including double, twin, triple and small double accommodation. One room is set on the ground floor, five on the first floor and four on the second floor. Please note that our second floor rooms may have lower or shaped ceilings.

All guest rooms are well equipped with central heating, a flat screen TV, tea/ coffee making facilities and radio alarms. We can also provide hair dryer and ironing facilities on request.

Breakfast

Enjoy breakfast in our contemporary dining room or relax and have breakfast in bed at no extra charge. Our standard times are 8.30am to 9.15am (9.30am for breakfast in bed) or we can offer an earlier cooked option from 8am by arrangement. Cereals, toast and fruit juice can be provided for guests requiring breakfast before 8am. 

Enjoy chilled fruit, a choice of cereals or porridge to start which are followed by our full cooked breakfast or one of our breakfast specials. These can include bacon and marmalade sandwich, beans on toast and bacon/sausage sandwich. We also have a range of specialty teas and coffee.

Special diets can be catered for, please let us know in advance.

Facilities at our guest house include free Wi-Fi, free parking in our private car park and further on road parking in our cul de sac.

We have been awarded the Enjoy England Silver award for our accommodation and we also hold a Breakfast Award.

We accept dogs by prior arrangement, but please note they are not to left unattended in guest rooms. We also have a resident cat, Kittson.

Availability

Arrival times are Midday to 7.30pm (a later arrival time may be possible by arrangement only) and departure times are between 8am and 11am. We can also be flexible with departure times by arrangement.

A two night stay is normally required over the weekends. Gift vouchers are available to purchase.

Children over ten are very welcome.

Directions

By car from the south - M1/M18/A1M/A1

Leave the A1 taking the A64 signed for York and Scarborough, then leave the A64 for the A1036, signed for York West. Travel towards the city and you will pass The Holiday Inn then The Marriott Hotel on your right. Then you will see the racecourse on your right. As the racecourse is coming to an end look to your left for St George's Place (the bus lane starts at the end of our road).

By car from the north - A1 South

Leave at the junction of the A59 for York and travel towards the centre until you pass under an iron girder bridge. You need to turn right straight after this. Shortly you will get to some traffic lights, turn right. Travel down the hill (called The Mount), you will see the Newington Hotel on your left, straight after this look to your right for St George's Place.
