About this Holiday Cottage

Luxuriously furnished to the highest standards throughout, The Barn is a real 'Grand Design' property which is perfect for families or couples visiting Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Sitting in professionally-designed gardens, this stylish conversion boasts wonderful features including a master double bedroom overlooking the snug with wood burner, huge patio doors and roof-lights to let in plenty of natural light, two comfortable seating areas and a large family dining space. 

One of three gorgeous properties at Middleton Hall near Pickering, cyclists, walkers and nature watchers are all welcome with stays of three nights or more accepted during the winter off peak months.

Inside

Retaining a wealth of beautiful original features, the contemporary yet cosy snug has a modern wood burner stove, exposed stone walls and original barn roof trusses. There are two comfortable seating areas along with an extending dining table for up to ten people. Remotely controlled blinds are fitted along with a flat screen TV, DVD player and midi music system. Excellent self catering facilities in the kitchen include a dishwasher, washer/ dryer, fridge, freezer, electric oven and induction hob. Underfloor heating is fitted for our guests comfort. 

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

North Side 

A mezzanine level sleeping area with separate dressing room which is accessed up the elegant glass and walnut stairs. 

Blue wet room with central power shower.

South Side

A second mezzanine level sleeping area looking out across the original barn beams with twin or super king size bed.

Ground floor bathroom with deep bath, separate power shower, WC and hand basin.

Single bedroom/ study which may be suitable for less mobile guests.

Outside

The two splendid, professionally designed gardens provide a wonderful place to relax and include an Italian-style pebble courtyard with plants and wooden seating area for family meals. There is also a further 'hidden gem' which catches the evening sunset, allocated parking and garage for storing bikes. Guests can also explore the Hall's grounds with mature trees, wonderful structures, a trampoline, paddock and woodland area. 

The garden attracts a variety of birds including tits and goldfinches close to the Barn.

Applestore Cottage and Coach House Cottage

Applestore Cottage - a spacious two bedroom cottage with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, plenty of period features and a country-style kitchen. Cots and high chairs are provided for children and there is a secret 'walled garden' with outdoor seating.

Coach House Cottage - a quintessential English country cottage with two bedrooms, two bath/ shower rooms, landscaped garden and wood burner stove. Pets are welcome in the property by prior arrangement.

Other Things to Note

The rental price includes heating, electricity, towels, linen along with a stock of logs and kindling. The welcome grocery hamper is well stocked with tea/ coffee making supplies, butter, eggs, yogurt, bread and red wine. A travel cot and high chair can be provided by arrangement. A hose for washing down bikes can be found next to the garage.

There is free WiFi usually at over 10Mb/sec.

The property is next door to a working farm so you may be aware of the arable and beef farming cycles. 

Availability

Short breaks of three nights or more may be available between September and May.

No pets except in Coach House Cottage by arrangement. No smoking.
