Ousebank House is a modern townhouse located just moments from the heart of the historic city of York. Set over two floors, you enter the property on the ground floor which presents a well-equipped kitchen/dining area should you not wish to dine out in the many restaurants close by. On the same floor you have a delightful living area with a comfy corner sofa and large smart TV giving you a perfect area to relax in. On the first floor you have two good sized bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. The first floor also boasts a lovely bathroom which offers a heated towel rail and shower over the bath.
To the rear of the property, you have a lovely, private Indian stoned patio area which is ideal to have a glass of fizz al fresco style in the warm summer months. Another fantastic feature which this property has to offer is that it’s a stone’s throw from the River Ouse, giving you instant access to gorgeous walks any time of the year. Stylish decoration throughout, after being renovated by the owner, you will find a cosy and peaceful retreat to come back to after a day exploring what this truly perfect city has to offer.
York is the one of the most visited cities outside of London and is popular throughout the whole year with numerous festivals and magical Christmas markets. You have many attractions within walking distance from the property including the iconic Minster, Railway Museum and Clifford’s Tower; admire the beautiful architecture at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, step back in time at the Jorvik Centre and the Castle Museum.
Stroll along the cobbles down the world-famous Shambles or take one of the terrifying night-time ghost walks which are a must. This vibrant city is bursting at the seams with delightful restaurants, traditional inns serving real ales and a wide choice of teashops including the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms. It is also a shopper’s paradise with a wealth of independent shops and out of town stores at the Designer Outlet which is a short 12-minute drive. This property is a wee gem just a wee 5 minute wander to the city centre along the river bank. Parking is to the back with a designated "V" for visitors at the back if there are two cars. The Slip Inn is a minute from the property with a great wee beer garden out the back. The Swan a further minute with plenty cafes etc across the road. My only complaint is that there are no blinds in the kitchen. The kitchen has 2 large windows and the sun comes in all day making it ridiculously hot in the kitchen. The lack of blinds caused privacy issues with flats and houses overlooking the back of the property as well as security issues as it was obvious when we were not at home.

This is a fab place, modern and clean. Perfect for walking into the city and station and the Rowntree Park just down the road. Beautiful walks along the river. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone who want to just park their car up and enjoy YORK.

My family and I have visited York many times and it’s become a tradition that we visit York for my birthday. Where we usually stay was very expensive this time so we looked elsewhere - and I’m so pleased we chose Ousebank! What got me immediately is how quiet a location it is! Quiet, but a ten/fifteen walk into the centre of York - and only a few minutes from “Bishy”, the buzzing local high street packed with independent businesses.Ousebank is so clean - I’m not too picky (sometimes you’ll miss a cobweb when dusting) but Ousebank was spotless! The beds were large and comfy, the facilities were more than sufficient for our short break. And brilliant internet! Huge bonus to have allocated parking and direct access from the parking to the rear of the property. Can’t wait to go back next year - already booked!
