Snaptrip says

Wayside Cottage in York receives high praise for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and the added luxury of a hot tub. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, ample room, and the property's central location for exploring Yorkshire. The cottage's rustic charm and privacy are noted, alongside the thoughtful touches by the host. While some minor maintenance issues and missing amenities are mentioned, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with several reviews highlighting its tidiness and well-maintained condition. One mention of musty-smelling sofas suggests a slight deduction, but overall, the high standards of cleanliness are evident.

The location is praised for its privacy and central position for visiting York and other attractions. Some guests note the convenience of a nearby pub and the rural charm, despite being close to a main road. The road's presence leads to a slightly lower score due to noise concerns for some guests.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the cosy sitting room, spacious bedrooms, and comfortable beds. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level. A few comments about the lack of a shower in the ensuite and musty sofas slightly affect the score.

The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen and a hot tub, are generally appreciated. However, some guests mention missing essentials and suggest improvements like additional kitchen utensils and outdoor lighting. The lack of a shower mixer and plastic glasses for the hot tub are noted.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts of milk and cakes, which are well-received. It should be noted that while these gestures are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Amazing value for money. Always spotless, plenty of towels and linen. Love the hot tub. Location is perfect too. Definitely recommend.

Slightly quirky layout, the main bedroom is not the room with the en-suite, but all rooms were large and it was great to see the hot tub, warmed up ready for us when we arrived.

  • Pamela

The hot tub was great and the children loved the gypsy caravan. This was our second visit, and had a lovely weekend.
