The spacious kitchen/diner will be the heart of this family home, the country style kitchen offers a host of modern appliances. There is plenty of worktop space to prepare a delicious evening meal or for a tasty picnic to enjoy at the beach. A breakfast bar provides seating for two and you can come together as a family at the large dining table. Retire in the evening to the first floor and find three well-presented bedrooms. A twin room with low sloping ceiling and Velux window and the master super kingsize zip and link bedroom with en suite toilet and sink facilities. The accommodation is completed by a house shower room. Fern Cottage benefits from an enclosed dog-friendly garden providing a large neatly trimmed lawn, a patio area with additional seating and a private hot tub. During the summer months enjoy alfresco dining or relax on an evening surrounded by bubbles and watch the night sky.

A short walk will bring you to a popular Thai restaurant and you can also head into the thriving village of Pocklington which is known as the gateway to the Wolds. Here you will find a local pub as well as a couple of supermarkets, with a market every Tuesday. Directly opposite is a bus stop which will take you into York or over to the coast. Running seven days a week it’s a great option should you wish to leave the driving to someone else! In less than a 30-minute drive, you will locate the walled city of York. Whilst here, you can visit the Gothic-style cathedral, step inside the time capsule of the Jorvik Viking Centre, or enjoy the vast array of shops, restaurants and pubs within the city.

Nearby, for children, you have York Maze, Piglets Farm as well as Flamingo Land theme park and zoo. There are some wonderful walking trails nearby making this a great destination for hikers as well as dog lovers. Take time to explore the stunning Yorkshire Wolds or head into the Howardian Hills and visit Castle Howard, home to both Brideshead Revisited and more recently Bridgerton. Burnby Hall and Gardens are close by along with many National Trust and English Heritage properties. Make this beautifully presented holiday home the base for your Yorkshire break.
