The fascinating market town of Kirkbymoorside is situated on the edge of The North Yorks Moors National Park between Helmsley and Pickering. There have been two castles in the town and fragments can still be found in the area, with stones from one of the castles used in the building of the Toll House in the centre of the town. The town has a broad cobbled main street and is flanked by magnificent Georgian buildings. There are walks from the town towards Hutton-le-Hole and the fabulous Ryedale Folk Museum can be found here. Visitors can take a trip back in time and discover what life was like in past times. With its idyllic location and stunning scenery, Kirkbymoorside is a super holiday base.

We found the cottage had virtually everything we could possibly need. Being extremely picky, would have loved a larger main bed and footstool in the lounge. But this is a fabulous cottage, one of the very best weâve stayed in over many years, immaculately clean and very cosy with some lovely, quality furnishings. The area contains some absolute gems to visit: had a good time at Ninnington Hall; enjoyed Helmsley and its castle; loved the great value Ryedale folk museum; enjoyed the walk from Helmsley to Rievaulx abbey; reasonable drive to both Whitby and Scarborough. Tracy was very welcoming and the cottage and itâs garden and setting was beautifully maintained. Thank you!

We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. Owners very friendly and helpful. Very quiet. The fully fenced in garden was great for our dogs who also enjoyed their holiday. The homemade flapjack was also very delicious on arrival with our cup of tea. Great walks direct from the cottage and a good area with lots to see and do.
