About this property

Lovely cottage attached to the owner's home within walking distance of Haxby's shops and pubs, and a short drive or bus journey to York centre and its many attractions. In a quiet setting, the property has been tastefully furnished to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay. Set across a single storey you will arrive at a well-equipped kitchen layered with cream units and everything you need to feel right at home. The cosy lounge/diner is beautifully presented sharing space with sumptuous sofas, and a calming teal colour scheme, further elevated by a feature wall. Enjoy the warmth from the electric fire as you settle down for some well-deserved downtime in the evening. Afterwards, cosy up in the king size bedroom, a soothing place to relax, with doors opening up to the outside, drawing in the sunshine as the next day begins. Getting ready in the morning will be of ease with a contemporary shower room on hand, perfected to that of a hotel standard. Outdoors, make use of the beautiful shared patio and gas barbecue, a great excuse to gather your loved ones for a social evening in this fabulous destination. The cottage is also ideally situated to head north and enjoy the delights of The north York moors or east to the coast. The centre of York is just 4 miles from the property; this remarkable city is bursting with striking architecture and quaint cobbled streets hosting charming shops, pubs and cafés. Cosy Corner lived up to its name, was well equipped for cooking, and the new bed was very comfortable. (Some stays in holiday lets have been spoiled by saggy mattresses.) Another plus was the presence of hooks on the bathroom door; this may sound silly, but many holiday lets have nowhere to hang a dressing gown or toilet bag. Small things can make a big difference! My only quibble was that I found it difficult to unlock the door from the inside. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Although the owners live next door it is still very private. Well equipped kitchen for making own meals but also access to many cafes in the local area. So nice to have comfortable, and very clean, furniture for relaxing in the evening too. We used public transport to get there and to get around, very well serviced area.

The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and as its name says, "Cosy". We've had a very enjoyable week and for us, recommend Cosy Corner Cottage - many thanks to Lynne and Barry. Sykes - score reduced to their issues with the booking system not accepting my Credit Card payment on both the initial deposit as well as attempting to reduce the balance outstanding (the same card used on many, many occasions before with Sykes, and at all times being accepted by every other business I used) - Sykes reply being "We are also experiencing technical difficulties with our online system when guests are attempting to make a payment towards their booking. Our technical team are currently looking in to this, however we are unsure of when this will be resolved.". In the end I ended up paying online by my Debit Card, which was accepted, without issue. For the many number of years that we've been using Sykes, this is totally unacceptable.
