As a place to stay the cottage is perfectly placed to discover why North Yorkshire attracts millions of visitors each year. Walking the amazing city walls, browsing the independent shops, visiting The Shambles, the Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre and a myriad of activities offers something for absolutely anyone and everyone! However the county offers bustling market towns and picturesque villages; the North Yorkshire Moors National Park; a rich heritage of castles, monasteries and private mansions and some great outdoor areas to explore from the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds to the woodlands of Dalby Forest.

Very clean & tidy, and very warm (we arrived during storm "Eowyn"). Also very quiet & peaceful. Owners very helpful. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a base close to York.

The heating kept the cottage nice and warm. The settee was comfortable but the cushions needed to be repositioned regularly. My husband found the other chair rather uncomfortable for sitting. Good supply of kitchen items. The geographical position of the cottage was ideal close to countryside and Park and Ride services. Very quiet location. Also very near to the Outlet village. Thank you for the welcome pack of mince pies and bottle of Bucks Fizz!

We have just come home from a 3 night stay. The cottage was decorated for Christmas which was perfect and was well equipped with everything we needed. The location was so quiet and relaxing which is just what we needed. Not far from York you can still choose the hustle and bustle in the day. I had read previous reviews about the sofa being uncomfortable but we did not find this as all. Cosy evenings in with the log burner too. Have already recommended to friends. Thank you for the perfect stay.
