Oak Boutique Lodge in York offers a peaceful setting with beautiful scenery, including a lake view. Guests appreciate the dog-friendly environment, large deck, and amenities like a hot tub. The lodge is cosy and well-appointed, ideal for trips to York and the surrounding area. Hosts are responsive, enhancing the pleasant stay despite occasional maintenance needs and weather-related power cuts.
Cleanliness is generally good with minor issues like cobwebs and a limescale-covered showerhead mentioned, which are understandable given the woodland location and were quickly rectified by guests.
The location is praised for its beauty and tranquillity, being close to York and suitable for peaceful retreats, although the proximity to a road with motorbike noise was a concern for some.
The lodge is described as comfortable and cosy, with essentials provided. However, some guests noted the lodge can get very hot at night and suggested the addition of an iron and throws for extra comfort.
Facilities like a fridge, dishwasher, and smart TVs are available, but maintenance issues such as a faulty kettle and unconnected massage chairs were noted. The hot tub is a highlight when instructions are followed.
While the reviews reflect a generally positive experience, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so a score cannot be provided.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful. It was lovely and cosy inside. Nights by the first and the hot tub were just what we needed

Lovely stay at the Oak lodge!! Perfect distance for trips in York and the surrounding area. The lodge was perfect and had everything we needed, with beautiful scenery and amenities. We experienced a few power cuts over the stay due to unfortunate weather but the hosts were helpful and quick to respond. Would recommend!!

No plug socket where the dressing table mirror is even though there is a hairdryer provided on the dressing table shelf which needs plugging in. Everything looked a little worn.Kettle handle to lift the spout had lost its rubber so when you poured a hot drink you burnt yourself (kettle on a gas stove)
