Having stayed here before we looked forward to it. However, on arrival it was VERY clear the floors had not been hoovered as there was detritus everywhere. There was stale bread in the bread bin, cobwebs on the walls. The internet was non-existent despite advise it was available. Dog faeces in the garden, plants growing in through the windows. The frying pan was so distorted and old it could not be used. Ear-ring left in a drawer. The kitchen floor had obviously NOT been cleaned with stains and old food on the floor. The downstairs wet-room had a shower head that was so badly full of limescale that it squirted out of the head seams over the floor, sealing (where there are electrics) and only through 20% of the shower head holes. In our opinion there is absolutely NO excuse for not cleaning a house. The floors were quite frankly disgraceful and I would not expect to arrive after a long journey and spend time hoovering the ground floor. The windows were rotten and would not open. Dead wasps in the bedroom etc etc.

Very lovely cottage with outside areas by the river. Spacious rooms with comfortable furniture makes the place feel very homily. Barely a minutes walk into the centre of town with is restaurants and pubs and close to to Duncombe park with its Bird of Prey centre and many walks along the river or towards Rievaulx Abbey.

Lovely property. Good quality fixtures and fittings. Some upgrading needed to be worthy of a top rating.
