Barn Owl Cottage in York is praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and beautiful, quiet setting. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. The location is ideal for exploring York and the surrounding areas, with easy access to trains. While Wi-Fi connectivity is noted as an issue, the property's overall charm and convenience make it a recommended choice for a peaceful getaway.
The property generally maintains a good standard of cleanliness, though one review suggests the need for a deep clean to uphold this standard.
The location is highly regarded for its proximity to York and ease of access to local transport, making it an excellent base for exploring the area.
Guests find the cottage to be comfortable and cosy, with very comfortable beds and spacious interiors, although one review mentions the sofa being low for those with mobility issues.
The property is well-equipped with modern kitchen appliances and utilities. However, poor Wi-Fi and mobile signal, as well as a lack of property instructions, slightly detract from the overall experience.

Lovely property a lot of money spent on the construction and fittings. Needs a total deep clean and regular cleaning to maintain a good standard.

We booked last minute, it was lovely. The train station is just down the road for easy access to York etc (where we visited our favourite restaurant Marzano's). The cottage is beautiful, although we did have 2 doubles I'm not sure if one of the rooms could have been a twin but tbf I didn't ask the question. The grounds were immaculate and as it was gated, felt really safe and secure. Overall I would definitely go back, it was lovely. Thank you Tilly.

Very spacious comfortable cottage. Need a car to go shopping in Knaresborough or York. Local amenities not available. Great for a quiet weekend or few days break though. Internet WiFi link very poor though if you rely on it.
