You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do and see during your stay, whether that’s ambling along the York City Walls, partaking in a Ghost Walk or a Bloody Tour of York, a picnic within the serene greens of Dean’s Park, brushing up on local history at JORVIK Viking Centre, or popping into some of the shops dotted along the historic shopping street of The Shambles. Just outside of York, you can also stop by the iconic landmarks and attractions of Murton Park, the Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial, and the Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park, if even more entertainment is required. Book a memorable escape to York when you choose 6 Granary Court.
The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker: the Minster, its medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums(including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and its "time trip" experience. Summer and winter, there is something to fascinate the whole family. Explore York’s quaint streets and hidden corners, or take an excursion further afield to the Dales, Moors or the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. Yorkshire is rich in stately homes, with Harewood House and Castle Howard just two of several within an hour’s drive. A cycling city boasting two theatres, character pubs and great shopping, York has it all.

It was very quiet, and peaceful, all the time we were there, yet only a short walk from all the town of York has to offer, so very convenient. It had everything you could possibly need, and more (shopping bags, an umbrella even),There was a choice of supermarkets in a walkable distance if you were self catering, and lots to do, especially historic buildings to visit, York Minster, and the town walls. Being the first weekend of the Christmas market, the town was very popular for visitors in the late afternoon and evening, but all good natured fun. There are so very many choices of eating establishments or pubs , catering for every taste. We plan to visit again, definitely.
