A beautiful detached single-storey Yorkshire cottage, located in the rural village of Knapton near York. Fully restored and individually styled, Lodge Cottage has been furnished in a contemporary style to provide quality accommodation in a wonderful location. The cottage offers superb facilities over one floor with an open plan living area with Velux window and patio door leading to a small patio area overlooking open countryside. A delightful en-suite bedroom further complements the accommodation and provides couples with a perfect cottage base for a romantic break or a great touring base from which to enjoy the many local delights on offer.The cottage is within easy reach of historic York, the market towns of Malton and Helmsley and the east coast. The area is packed with stately homes and historic monuments including Castle Howard and Fountains Abbey, making Lodge Cottage an ideal choice for discovering this stunning part of the country. The Knapton Lion is three minutes walk away in the village serving food lunchtime and evening Wednesday to Sunday. Advance booking on their website recommended
The historic City of York has plenty of top class attractions and activities to keep everyone of all ages entertained and occupied. Just to wander around the city and take in the different architectural styles is a feast for the eyes, and the magnificent Minster has a long and colourful history dating back centuries. A stroll down the Shambles will take the visitor along what is often called Europe's best preserved medieval street, whilst the famous Jorvik Viking centre goes even further back in time. York Castle Museum is an amazing experience introducing visitors to everyday life from different eras. With many hidden gems in this vibrant city just waiting to be discovered and the outdoor pursuits on offer in the surrounding countryside, York makes a superb holiday destination.

Lovely quiet location. Very convenient for Park & Ride into York.

It's easy to find and accessible off the York Ring Road. Close to the Poppleton P&R, Dobbies Garden Centre and local pub, The Knapton Lion. The accomodation is light and feels airy with high ceilings, overlooking open fields on a quiet lane. The twin bedroom is small but the living area is roomy with two large sofas and easy open access to the kitchen. The large walk-in shower was very welcome after a long day out. I would highly recommend Lodge Cottage and will book again on my next visit to York.
