The Forge is a cosy and well-appointed cottage praised for its peaceful location with sea views, making it an ideal base for exploring the coast. Guests appreciate the homely feel, the warmth of the log burner, and the welcome pack. It is dog-friendly and offers a tranquil retreat with attentive hosts.
Reviewers consistently mention the property being very clean, indicating top marks for cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its sea views and proximity to coastal attractions, though one mention of tight parking slightly affects the perfect score.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, especially the upstairs areas. A minor note on the ensuite size and sloping ceilings suggests a slight deduction from a perfect comfort score.
Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and a log burner. The mention of a tiny ensuite and parking challenges suggests room for minor improvements.
Guests are touched by the welcome pack and doggy treats, showing thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, this is politely noted.

Cosy cottage within easy reach of Staithes, Saltburn, Whitby and many other great coastal locations. Really comfortable and well appointed internally plus a fabulous sea view just outside the cottage. Highly recommended

A beautiful cottage, peaceful location with a sea view. Very dog friendly. Really homely feel, cosy and warm, especially with the log burner. Lovely welcome back on arrival, tea, cake, biscuits, and a jar of doggy treats. Highly recommended and would have no hesitation in booking again.

Enjoyed a lovely 4 night stay here. Lovely barn conversion located along farm track in a lovely area.Parking was a little tight ( we have a Yaris Cross) but manageable. Upstairs lounge and bedroom very comfortable. There were only 2 of us so didn't use downstairs bedroom although it was more spacious due to not having a sloping ceiling. Upstairs ensuite was tiny and a little tricky due to sloping ceilings upstairs. We used the downstairs bathroom for showers. We didn't have a dog but they appear to be well catered for. Kitchen very nice and well equipped. Lovely welcome tray , thank you and fresh flowers on the table.
