Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Courtyard with sitting out area and garden furniture (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. This unique property has been lovingly restored from part of the ancient ruins of Seaton Hall and welcomes guests for stays starting in autumn 2024. Seaton Hall has a rich history, named after the de Seton dynasty who resided here from 1130 to 1307 and formed alliances through marriages with the Scottish Royal family. Passed down through generations, the hall eventually fell into disrepair, until the current owner acquired the estate in 2002 and began its restoration with the help of skilled masons and craftsmen.
The cottage itself is beautifully furnished, combining modern comfort with touches of antique charm. On the ground floor, the open-plan living area features a modern kitchen, a dining table, and a cozy seating area with three sofas around a smart TV. A feature fireplace with exposed patterned brickwork adds character to the space. Also on this floor is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom that includes both a bath and a shower.
Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms: two family rooms, each with a double bed and a single bed, one of which has an en-suite shower room, and an additional single bedroom. With its blend of history, comfort, and scenic surroundings, Seaton Orangery promises an unforgettable stay.

Excellent overall.3 very minor details.Not enough knives, forks & spoons for 9 people.Only one bath towel on each of the 3 double beds.The property has a washer dryer but the property details do not mention it.

We spent a relaxing week in the cottage with our 2 children and grandparents. The open plan living and kitchen area had a great view over the well kept courtyard. We parked and entered via the back of the cottage into the utility room. This room was a welcome bonus that wasn't advertised on Cottages.com. There was ample parking with space for my small trailer. All the bedrooms were a good size with plenty of storage for our week's stay.The only negative I would say is that kitchen storage areas were grubby on our arrival, and some of the storage units in the bedrooms as well. When we left, everything was clean!The short walk across to the Co-op was convenient, as was the chip shop on the road down to the harbour. There was also some outside space for our youngest to kick a ball around.We met the owner while we were there (Mr Kidd?) who was friendly and helpful.We had a walk around the on-site antiques shop and had breakfast in the cafe on the morning we left which set us up for the journey home!As well as spending time in Staithes itself we also had beach days at Runswick bay and Sandsend, both of which were nice beaches but you need to be there early to get parked. We also visited Whitby and Scarborough for which I'd recommend the park and rides for a lot less stress!

Location brilliant. Within walking distance of Staithes via a public footpath. Living area very disappointingly small- not enough seats for the occupancy. Photos on website make it look more spacious. Ideal if booking all other properties on same complex as I guess other cottages ‘shared’ the kitchen items & failed to return them. This is what we were told when we asked for more cutlery (3 forks & knives in drawer)Other things let this place down. Slimline dishwasher, no information book whatsoever, showers so weak upstairs had to use downstairs one, no drawers at all in downstairs bedroom. It felt like things had been done in a rush with the conversion.
