About this Country Inn

The Ellerby Country Inn is nestled in a quiet country location only eight miles from Whitby. The lovely and relaxed atmosphere, comfortable rooms, resident's lounge, bar and restaurant never fail to leave guests feeling refreshed, well-rested and always wanting to return. There's plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and country walks too, with the Cleveland Way and North York Moors National Park easily accessible. Ample private parking, free Wi-Fi and cycle storage is provided for guests.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

Each bedroom at The Ellerby is decorated to an incredibly high standard and has its own en-suite. All rooms have a bath with the exception of 1 and 7 which have large showers. Other features include flat screen Freeview or Freesat TVs, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and desks with lamps.

Choose from superior doubles, standard doubles, a superior double with disabled access and a special family room split over two floors that sleeps up to five.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Breakfast is included in the room rate and it's a full English and a continental.

The Ellerby's 55 seater restaurant serves food from 12 noon until 9pm and it's truly a lovely place to enjoy a lazy lunch or relaxing dinner. There are daily specials which change frequently as well as separate children's, vegan and coeliac menus.

Other Facilities

Dogs are welcome to stay in the standard rooms (rooms 1, 2 and 7) though they are not permitted in the bar or restaurant.

Whether it's a party of 10 or 100, you will be expertly accommodated on your special day. Everything from the food menu, to accommodation, right down to fresh flowers can be arranged to your specific requirements.

Around and About

The country inn is only eight miles from Whitby, one mile from the coastal village of Runswick Bay and Hinderwell. Just a few nearby points of interest include: North York Moors National Park, Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Dalby Forest and Goathland which has featured in the TV series Heartbeat and the Harry Potter films.

Directions

From Whitby: The country inn is only eight miles from Whitby on the A174 coast road. Alternatively you could take the A171 and turn off on to the B1226.

From the North: Take the A19 to Middlesbrough and merge onto the A66, at the roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A171 and follow the road, passing through seven roundabouts. Turn left onto the B1266 then left onto Ellerby Bank. Continue onto Ellerby Lane and the country inn will just be on your left.

From the South: From the A1, take the A168 towards the A19. Then take the A172 to Stokesley and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A171 (Middlesbrough Road)  and go through a further three roundabouts. Turn left onto the B1266 then turn left onto Ellerby Bank. Continue onto Ellerby Lane and you'll spot the country inn just on your left.
