Broomhill View is a charming, well-located cottage in Staithes, praised for its proximity to the beach, local amenities, and picturesque views. Guests frequently mention its cosy atmosphere, cleanliness, and well-equipped kitchen. While the cottage is compact and may feel snug for four adults, it is ideal for couples or small families. Some guests noted challenges with parking, stairs, and heating, but overall, the property offers a delightful base for exploring the area. Occasional thoughtful touches have been appreciated, though these are not guaranteed.
Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean, with fresh bedding and tidy facilities. However, a few reviews mentioned issues such as stained mattresses, dirty floors, and some worn furnishings, which slightly lowered the overall impression.
The location is consistently praised as excellent, with easy access to the beach, shops, and pubs. The scenic setting and sea views are highlights, though some guests found the uphill walk from the car park challenging.
Guests generally found the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, but several noted that the space is tight for four adults and that the heating can take time to warm the property. The stairs and bathroom layout may be difficult for those with mobility issues.
The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen essentials and a working fireplace, but some guests reported missing items (e.g., corkscrew, hairdryer), worn kitchenware, and minor maintenance issues. Facilities are generally good but could benefit from some updates.
Some guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as extra Christmas decorations and prompt responses from the host. However, these gestures are not consistently mentioned and cannot be guaranteed for all stays.

Carefully renovated, great care has been taken to retain and enhance the original features, whilst incorporating modern comforts in this traditional seaside home. The snug and cosy sitting room oozes charm and character, with stripped wooden floors, beamed ceiling and a warming open fire set in a period cast iron surround, perfect for cooler evenings, whilst the ample selection of books, games and DVDs keep everyone entertained on a rainy day.
There is a well-equipped, modern kitchen with a breakfast bar, with the family bathroom leading off. Stairs lead up to the two pretty bedrooms, with the double having dual-aspect windows, with views over the rooftops to the sea. Outside to the front, is a bench beside the cobbles, where you can easily find yourself in the sunshine, spending many an hour people watching. This quaint and atmospheric village is packed with nostalgia and charm, with a couple of local inns, quaint tea rooms and a couple of shops. A short walk brings you to the small sandy cove and coble landing, with rock pooling, crabbing, fishing or simply building sand castles on the beach.
Walkers will delight in an exhilarating clifftop walk on the Cleveland Way, which links Staithes with neighbouring villages, such as Runswick Bay and Port Mulgrave, a superb way to explore this Dinosaur Coast. With many independent shops, good restaurants, traditional tea rooms and the best fish and chips in Yorkshire, there is something here for everyone! With many attractions in the local area, including the steam railway at Grosmont, the Danby Moors Visitors Centre and boating on the River Esk at Ruswarp, this lovely cottage is well placed for a varied and interesting holiday.
