Scarborough boasts a water park, with a mix of thrills for adrenaline junkies, including an enormous wave pool erupting metre-high waves, and a relaxing infinity pool and luxury spa – fun for all the family. Further up the coast are Whitby and a handful of pretty bays with red-roofed cottages built in mellow Yorkshire stone. Runswick Bay and Robin Hood's Bay are just perfect for nostalgic pastimes such as rock pooling and building sandcastles.
