About this property

Resting in the coastal village of Cayton, with local amenities and a wonderful sandy beach, Finch 47 is a well-presented family lodge ideal for those looking to explore the coast and countryside of North Yorkshire. Park off-road beside the property and unpack with ease, making your way into a wonderfully light and airy open-plan living area with contemporary grey décor and tasteful furnishings. Here you can curl up in the corner sofa and enjoy a good book, or make the most of the glass double doors, opening them in the warmer months to let in the sea breeze and to head out onto the great decking area to enjoy a glass of your favourite beverage. The kitchen hosts a selection of amenities to assist with cooking, and you can enjoy a meal together at the dining table. Freshen up with a warming soak in the bath before settling down into either a double or a single bedroom. Cayton is a great little seaside village offering a local pub, convenience store and easy access to a picturesque sandy beach, ideal for walking, watersports or wild swimming. The town is within a short distance of the North York Moors National Park and North Riding Forest Park, great for immersing yourself in the scenery and enjoying a hike or mountain biking amongst the wildlife. Head over to the seaside resort of Scarborough to find out more about the local history of North Yorkshire in the local museum, art gallery and of course the impressive Scarborough Castle towering above the coast. The town also sports arcades, a beach, a golf course, a pretty harbour and of course many tasty eateries and independent shops. There are extensive walks along the coast of North Yorkshire, including one from Scarborough to Hayburn Wyke Waterfall, as well as more beaches at Wilsthorpe and Bridlington Animal Park. All of this and more with a stay at the fantastic Finch 47.

Cayton, a small town and civil parish in North Yorkshire's Scarborough district, is an excellent choice for a beach getaway. There are many hidden treasures in the settlement, which has historical relics from the Second World War, including pillboxes that have been corroded by the sea. The village has a pleasant number of pubs and shops that are ideal for a self-catered stay, but you can find a larger selection of waterfront restaurants in the neighbouring resort town of Scarborough, which is packed with activities for visitors of all ages. Enjoy a day by the sea with a wide range of attractions including amusement arcades, ice cream parlours, seafood shops, and beach huts all nestled around the town's sandy beaches. Discover the area's rich history at Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum of Geology or enjoy a peaceful stroll through Peasholm Park, before setting out out on an even more wonderful outdoor adventure through the North York Moors National Park, which is home to one of the largest stretches of heather moorland. Here, you can find remarkable landscapes, wonderful wildlife, and plenty of heritage delights all scattered around a range of walking and cycling routes for people of all abilities. It is also accessible from Filey, Flamborough, and Malton. A great location, Cayton offers so much to do.

It has a large veranda and plenty of outside seating. The site that this is on is well maintained and has lots of facilities. It's in a good location to explore the surrounding areas and the beach is a short walk away. I would highly recommend this property. We had a great time staying here.

Beds were comfortable, shower good. We could really have done with a basic information pack for the appliances, disposal of waste and especially access to the wi fi. Appreciate the set up is for the owner but the child locks on all kitchen units were very irritating and we would have liked bit more kitchen equipment - bread knife casserole dishes etc. Cutlery rather wobbly and very flimsy pans were difficult to cook with.

Everything you need except WiFi is via the site and isn't very good.
