The Spital Craft Centre in Staxton, 2 miles, serves up a lovely Sunday carvery, and features Victorian streets with hairdressers, a beauty shop, village store, deli bakery and a tearoom. The house had everything we needed. Spacious and perfect for the whole family. Pool was fantastic, having all the inflatable for the kids to play with was an extra bonus. Garden was stunning. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

We are frequent visitors to Brompton Lodge and this reflects the high quality provision there. We are particularly attracted to the swimming pool which is an absolute delight particularly for the children in the family. The garden is quite large and provides ample space for dogs before their walks on the excellent nearby pathways. The house is well equipped and the cafe at the bottom of the lane provides excellent snacks at a reasonable price. The only drawback of the property is that the staircase is a little difficult for the youger and older members of the party to navigate.
