Crossing Keeper's Cottage in Grosmont is highly praised for its excellent location, particularly for steam train enthusiasts, and its well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfort, and the thoughtful touches, although some noted areas for improvement. The charm of the cottage and its surroundings, along with the friendly service, contribute to a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, but a few guests mentioned it could benefit from a deeper clean and better dusting. The majority, however, did not raise cleanliness as an issue.

The location is consistently lauded for its proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and local amenities. It's described as perfect for train enthusiasts and ideal for exploring the moors and beaches.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and homely, with a cosy atmosphere and comfortable furniture. Some minor issues were raised regarding hot water and a hairdryer, but overall the comfort level is high.

The property is well-equipped, with a few guests noting the absence of a hairdryer and dishwasher. There were also comments on the need for basic supplies and a more user-friendly TV. However, the facilities generally meet guests' needs.

While guests appreciate the provision of tea and the property's equipment, there are inconsistent reports regarding welcome packs and gifts. As such, it's important to note that while the property aims to be thoughtful, specific gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed.

The cottage has had an internal make over which has really made it very pleasant, including a new cooker and carpets. It is a great location to base your self, park up the car and travel by historical transport.

Fantastic place, in a great location which feels warm and comfortable. We will certainly be booking again.

Four of us plus our dog had a lovely three night break in this property over the August bank holiday weekend. The main reason for choosing this accommodation was its proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and as far as that goes, well you couldn’t get any closer! Watching the activity on the station and the locomotives passing by was a real highlight. The cottage itself was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Lots of railwayana dotted about the place which is a nice touch. We had an issue midway through our stay with the hot water but this was quickly resolved. We would definitely return.
