About this Holiday Cottage

The Smithy at Cross Pipes Cottages sits in the heart of the North York Moors in Goathland, just 7 miles from Whitby and the coast.  Perfect for couples, this delightful cottage has one bedroom and glorious views of the surrounding Moors. The cottage is stone built and the interior has an open plan feel, whilst retaining a cosy and homely ambience.  The property has large gardens to enjoy, and for summer bookings you'll also have use of an 11m x 3m swimming pool!  Goathland village is ideal for coast and country touring, and contains a selection of quality shops, restaurants and its own station along the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.

Living Space

The living area includes a rear lobby and a spacious lounge area with a large leather settee offering reclining seats, a TV with Freeview Channels, a DVD player and BT Broadband internet.  An open plan kitchen includes all essential self-catering facilities.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

You can be sure of a restful night's sleep with the comfortable bed recess area, complete with a superb en-suite shower room. 

Outside

Ample parking is available and guests have access to extensive gardens and an outdoor swimming pool (11m x 3m) during July and August only.

Other Things to Note

Bed linen is provided, guests should bring their own towels.  There are smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors fitted for safety purposes and a fire blanket and fire extinguisher is provided too. A small set of logs for an initial fire is provided thereafter guests will be expected to provide their own logs. Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage. The rental includes heating (excluding logs as noted), and lighting. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement, a rarety in the locality'.  

If you're looking for accommodation for a larger group in Goathland, you can book this property alongside the adjacent main house at Cross Pipes, a Grade II Listed building sleeping 6 comfortably.  The two properties together sleep up to 8 people!

Availability

Weekly bookings are from Saturday to Saturday.  Short breaks are available all year round including weekend and midweek breaks.

Directions

From the North/East follow the A171 Whitby to Middlesbrough moor road, turn left at the roundabout onto A169 through Sleights, up Blue Bank and onto the moors.

Take the right hand turning for Goathland and continue through the village. The cottage is on the right hand side of the road just after the junction for Egton opposite the Church. From the South/West, follow the A169 Whitby road and approximately 1 mile after passing RAF Fylingdales turn left where signposted Goathland.

Follow this road and the properties are situated immediately on the left as you enter the village, opposite the Church on the junction for Egton.
