About Rawcliffe House Farm

Ideal for walkers, cyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts exploring the North York Moors National Park, Rawcliffe House Farm offers a superb choice of accommodation perfect for relaxing country breaks. Set just twenty miles from the historic city of York, the surrounding countryside is a haven for wildlife and the night skies above are some of the best in the country for stargazing. For days out, the stunning Jurassic Age coastline with its fine sandy beaches is just a short drive away and guests can also explore acres of magical moorland and ancient woodland. The North York Moors Steam Railway offers a relaxing way of exploring the National Park and departs from nearby Pickering.

We have six cottages available which can be booked together for families or groups. Our wonderful grounds have a choice of outdoor seating areas, a kid's play area and over an acre of grass for games. All ages will enjoy meeting our friendly resident animals and guests can help with feeding by prior arrangement.  

Gowland Studio Room

Perfect for solo travellers or a couple, Gowland is a spacious ground floor property with king-size bed, high beamed ceiling, little kitchenette, two chairs and lovely views over the fields towards Rawcliffe Bank. There is also a full-size bathroom with electric shower, hand basin and WC. Self catering facilities include a full size fridge with freezer box, microwave, kettle, toaster, food cupboard, sink and draining board. Please note that there is no hob or oven.

Guests also enjoy access into the sunny courtyard with outdoor seating provided and take in the relaxing country views. 

Farm Facilities

Drying room which guests can use free of charge

Secure bike storage and basic tools. Bike hire is also available by pre-arrangement

Spotting scope with tripod, binoculars and nature books for watching the wildlife. Extra charges apply and use must be pre-booked

Telescope with tripod, binoculars, two red-light torches and star maps for dark sky enthusiasts. Again, extra charges apply and use of equipment must be pre-booked 

Large grounds with south facing courtyard, tables and chairs for guests use, and one acre of grass for games

Garden with seating areas, brick built bbq, play area for children and outdoor play equipment

Free Wi-Fi with 10MB connection through the farm

Friendly resident animals to meet - assisting with feeding can also be arrangement in advance

Paddock for horses

Laminated guides for walks, drives, cycling and horse trekking

Walcott Studio Room - our second spacious ground floor studio with super king/ twin beds. Sleeps 2 

Giltspur Holiday Cottage - the farm's largest cottage created out of the old hayloft. Sleeps 7 + cot

Pye Corner Cottage - a flexible two bedroom cottage suitable for families or two couples holidaying together. Sleeps 5 + cot

Cloth Fair Cottage - our accessible one bedroom property with ramp access, open plan living area & deck. Sleeps 2

Hindburn Cottage - a light and spacious one bedroom cottage with south west facing patio. Sleeps 2

Availability

Short breaks are welcome except over the Christmas/ New Year period when a seven night minimum stay applies. No pets.
