Two flights of Internal stairs lead up to the apartment, which is cosy and comfortable, with a compact kitchen with dining area and a separate sitting room, with views over the town to the church spire beyond. With off road parking for one car in the courtyard at the back, guests can safely leave their car behind and hop on the train that puffs its way through the heather-clad moors to Grosmont and Whitby.
All amenities are at your fingertips, with quaint tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and independent shops at your disposal. Pickering has much to offer visitors, with its castle ruins, museums, bike hire and trout fishing ponds. With spectacular scenery on the doorstep and a wealth of stately homes and gardens to visit, including Duncombe Park, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard, there is plenty to keep you busy. Take a trip to the nearby market town of Helmsley, visit the castle and be sure to take the two mile walk along the valley to the beautiful Rievaulx Abbey. Cushions on chairs could do with changing. Squeaky doors and noisy Fridge. Nobody kept to parking spaces.

The position of the apartment is positively perfect, with views straight up the high street. It is generally quiet with the occasional background noise of traffic. You are well placed to explore all the places of interest, etc. I can highly recommend it.

It was nicely furnished & the beds were extremely comfortable. The apartment is ideally situated in the heart of Pickering with shops a stone throw away. The only downside is that the oven needs a deep clean otherwise I would have given a full 5 star rating.
