About this property

This charming bungalow is set on a working equestrian centre just outside the historic market town of Pickering. Surrounded by lush countryside, Dove Cottage welcomes families or two couples seeking a relaxing break to North Yorkshire. As you arrive you are greeted by ample off-road parking spaces; take a moment to appreciate the refreshing Yorkshire air before stepping into your new home-from-home. Allow the chef of the group to rustle up something tasty in the kitchen, appointed with all the mod cons required for a weekend away, while the rest of the group set the dining table, popping open a bottle of fizz in the process! After a day of exploring, look forward to winding down in the lounge, furnished with ample seating in front of a gas woodburner and TV for entertainment. Catch the last of the evening sun as you sit in the garden with a glass of bubbly in hand! As you look to catch some rest, there are two neutrally presented king-size bedrooms, both featuring zip/link beds for added flexibility. For those evenings where you don't fancy doing the cooking, there are a choice of three fantastic pubs within walking distance from the cottage's doorstep, including Spencers Bar, Black Bull pub and Beansheaf pub, all of which serve a menu of hearty meals in a charming and traditional pub setting, where you can enjoy an evening tipple following a day of activity. The charming market town of Pickering is well worth a visit, brimming with history owing to its 13th century castle and museum, whilst the high-street lined with shops, pubs and takeaways offers all of your essential amenities. The delights of Flamingo Land Resort are easily accessible by car, sure to be a hit with the little ones with it's exhilarating theme park rides and award-winning zoo, whilst those looking for a change of pace may prefer to spend a peaceful afternoon exploring the vast open moorland of the North York Moors National Park. The Park's highlight has to be Dalby Forest, an enchanting woodland that is perfect for those walking and nature enthusiasts of the group. If the coast is more to your fancy, why not visit Whitby or Scarborough, where stunning beaches and ample beachside amusements await? Spend some time exploring York, a city bursting with character and hosting plenty to see and do, whilst also being within easy reach of the market town of Kirkbymoorside. Nearby, the wonderful locations of Malton, Thornton-le-Dale and Helmsley can also be found, offering lovely sights and activities to experience. Explore North Yorkshire with a stay for four at Dove Cottage.

This old market town serves as the official entry to the picturesque North York Moors National Park, home to the Heartbeat countryside, with its complete range of services and traditional shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Take a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, where Harry Potter fans can see some of the locations where The Philosopher's Stone was filmed! The Beck Isle Museum, with its unusual collection of black and white photos and displays of rural life, is also well worth a visit. The North York Moors' rolling hills, valleys, rivers, and plentiful wildlife will leave walkers spoilt for choice, while York and the Heritage Coast are only a half-hour drive away. Overall, a lovely location for a quiet vacation.

.maybe a mile away and on an Equestrian site so surrounded by fields and places to exercise your dog. It is the best Cottage I have stayed in. It is totally dog friendly because there is a large fence surrounding it and even my little escape arist dog couldn't get out of the large garden or courtyard. The Cottage itself is very spacious, much bigger than I thought it would be..it is very comfortable and spotlessly clean and everything needed for a self catering holiday..although there are pubs and shops within a few mins walk . The owners who live next door are lovely and although not intrusive at all are there to help if needed for anything. I cannot fault the Cottage and can't wait to book again.

Deceptively spacious accommodation . The beds were very comfortable. Look out for the sign at the entrance to the drive as it is quite low down on the verge.

Very friendly owner who lives next door and welcomed us with milk, flowers, fruit cake and biscuits. Well located to visit places such as Whitby, Scarborough and York. Would definitely recommend.
